I would like to share my experience with Cinnamon Energy Systems. My old system was on its last legs and needed replacing. Cinnamon came out and listened to what I needed and gave me a quote, which I found very reasonable, including a battery backup. The crew came out and installed my system in 1-1/2 days. Inspection was yesterday and I am generating. Everyone I have dealt with at Cinnamon, was professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable. The after installation service is also impeccable. Michael Croft walked me thru how to use the app for my system. He was very patient and helpful. Cinnamon Energy Systems is amazing and I highly recommend them.

I had a solar system (panels with Tesla battery) installed by Cinnamon Energy Systems. The inspector who approved the install remarked it was "a very good system". They were also the only company I contacted who were willing to incorporate some panels I got second hand along with their new panels.
Michael Croft, who coordinated the project did an excellent job communicating.
I would recommend them.

Five stars for Cinnamon Energy Systems! If you’re considering going solar, look no further.
Our experience was incredibly smooth from start to finish. The team here handled everything with total professionalism. During the design phase, they were very thoughtful about the aesthetics of our home, ensuring the panel placement was both efficient and visually appealing. They even seamlessly coordinated with roofing contractors to replace some portion of our spanish tile roof with shingles before the installation began. They also installed the Powerwall 3 and took the time to get us completely set up with the system, making sure we understood how to use it.
They managed all the PG&E paperwork and city inspections, ensuring every box was checked without any stress on our end. Remarkably, the entire end-to-end process took only 3-4 weeks, which is incredibly fast!
A special shout out goes to Michael Croft for his help throughout the process. He was our go-to for every question we had, providing prompt and detailed explanations that gave us complete peace of mind. It’s rare to find a company that hits such tight timelines while maintaining this level of communication and care.
We highly recommend Cinnamon Energy Systems!

I had a solar battery installed by another company. They set it up wrong and refused to take the time to walk me through how it works. I hired Lucas from Cinnamon Energy on the recommendation of my electrician to come out to help. He redid all the breakers so the proper circuits would be supported by the battery, and then took the time to walk me through the app and show me how to change settings based on weather and forecast. I finally have a system that works the way it was intended and I feel educated on how to manage it. I highly recommend this company... customer service was top notch from start to finish!

I started thinking about solar last year, but it was not until this year when I became serious. I talked to as many as 6 companies who serve San Jose area, and in the end, I decided to go with Cinnamon Energy Systems. Main reasons are that the company was highly recommended by our neighbor who installed his in 2024, and the other is that the first discussion with Michael Croft from Cinnamon was very informative and he answered many questions in a straightforward manner. There actually is a third reason, which I will mention at the end of this review.
The things that I am most impressed by are:
1. Frequent and Tight Communication: The first phase is design, plan, and contract. Michael kept me informed and was always available to answer my questions. One time, he even responded to my email while he was on vacation.
2. Great Solution: A solar project is not only about solar panels and batteries, but also about power lines and breakers. The latter can pose a problem if your house is 50 years old like ours, and one company among 6 that I consulted suggested major rework in that area. Jonathan Munoz proposed a solution that is totally workable with little extra cost, and it passed city inspection without any problem at all.
3. Planning and Scheduling; Once the design and contract was completed and signed, the actual work had to be scheduled. It was a time when there were many projects in action to beat the clock, and also when the weather was very unstable. But Paula Hernadez constantly kept me updated on the outlook and informed me of any events or work ahead of time throughout the project. She was also readily available to answer my questions, and all above are to is me very important factors in executing a project. And in the end, she made it happen in time.
4. Installation and Quality: On the day of installation, Oscar Mendez and his team arrived on time (actually ahead of time), and the whole work was completed before 4pm; the panels, power lines, and battery unit. All that was left to do was for PG&E to install a new power meter and commission the system. I am not an expert in solar system, but the fact that the city inspector said he very much liked what they had done is an assurance of the quality. I should also add that I had the pleasure of visiting their office in Los Gatos in December, and everyone I met there was very friendly and well spoken. The same goes true to the people who came to my house for site survey and for installation of the system. Quality work come from quality people, and it was a prime example of that phrase.
5. Regional and Knowledgeable: One thing that we consumers probably tend to overlook is the location of the provider. Cinnamon is locally located and is very familiar with the Bay Area and greater San Jose. This comes into play when you are working with city for permits and inspections, and with PG&E for their part of work and inspections. Paula Hernadez again worked wonders in scheduling them for this project.
6. Established and Respected: While I was working through 6 providers aforementioned, it came down to two of them in the end. The other company had a similar solution and the references I gathered from owner’s past work were all outstanding. And they even proposed an earlier schedule than Cinnamon. The last factor that made me decide to go with Cinnamon is the fact that many other companies knew them, and they acknowledged Cinnamon’s expertise and work. You want to work with a company who will stay around to provide service in future years, and that was the last weight that made the scale tip.
The system became fully operational before the end of 2025, and even though the weather has been mostly rainy or cloudy since then, the app tells me that good 30% of the total electricity this year is self-powered. Considering that our house is all electric with a heat pump HVAC system, this is good. And I can look forward to sunny days ahead when this number will further improve.
All in all, I couldn’t be happier about Cinnamon and the solar system above our roof.

Cinnamon is a highly rated company and I was overall happy with the work. Sometimes communication was tricky but Consultant Michael Croft helped me navigate the process when clarification and service was needed.
