Expert Water Heater Installation

At Bluefrog Plumbing + Drain of Portland, we pride ourselves on our ability to tackle any plumbing challenge with expertise and dedication. Recently, we had the pleasure of assisting a client, Jim Kirkley, with a project that showcased our skills in water heater installation and plumbing solutions.

The Challenge

Jim contacted us with a request to install a new water heater in his cellar. This wasn't just any installation; the space was accessed via a very steep and rickety stairway, which presented a unique logistical challenge. In addition to removing the old water heater—which was no small feat—we were also tasked with connecting a new washer and dryer to the water supply and drain. This involved cutting through the wall to access the kitchen drain and rerouting the water lines.

Our team understood the importance of executing this job with care, not only to ensure the safety of our crew but also to preserve the integrity of Jim's home.

The Transformation Process

With a clear plan in place, our experienced plumbers got to work. Here’s how we approached the project:

1. Old Water Heater Removal: We carefully removed the old unit, navigating the steep stairway with precision to avoid any damage.

2. Installing the New Water Heater: The new water heater was securely installed, ensuring that it meets all safety and efficiency standards.

3. Washer and Dryer Connections: After successfully installing the heater, our team moved on to connect the new washer and dryer. This involved:

   • Cutting through the wall to reach the kitchen.
   • Tapping into the existing drain and retrofitting the water lines as necessary.
   • Installing a new dryer vent to the outside, replacing the old and battered original installation.

In total, this extensive project was completed in a single day, showcasing our commitment to efficiency and quality workmanship.

The Results

The transformation was remarkable. Jim not only had a brand-new water heater installed, but he also experienced a fully functional washer and dryer setup, thanks to our team's meticulous work.

“In summary, I would recommend them without reservations. They are totally professional, prompt, and trustworthy.” — Jim Kirkley --- Homeowner
