Stunning Granite Island Restoration
Stunning Granite Island Restoration
At Capitol Stone Care, we are passionate about bringing the beauty back to natural stone surfaces. Recently, we had the privilege of transforming a distressed granite island that had endured a difficult restoration attempt by another company. Our mission was clear: restore the granite to its original glory, and we achieved this with our dedicated approach and expert craftsmanship.
The Challenge: A Compromised Granite Island
Joan A. reached out to us after experiencing significant issues with her granite island. She had previously hired another company to refinish the surface, but unfortunately, they fell short. After investing over six days without satisfactory results, she was left with a poorly resurfaced and imperfect stone that did not meet her expectations. Frustrated and looking for a solution, Joan contacted our team for assistance.
> “David immediately answered our call for help, responded right away, looked at our situation and had a solution.” - Joan A.
Our Approach: Expertise in Action
When our team, led by David and Sandro, arrived, we thoroughly assessed the granite's condition and developed a strategic plan. Understanding the intricacies of natural stone, we decided to bypass the failed resurfacing efforts and directly focus on polishing and sealing the granite.
The key steps we took included:
1. Assessment: We examined the damages caused by the previous resurfacing.
2. Surface Preparation: We ensured the area was clean and safe for our process by removing all debris and preparing the environment.
3. Polishing: Using specialized tools and techniques, we meticulously polished the granite, enhancing its natural shine.
4. Sealing: To protect the surface from future stains and scratches, we applied a high-quality sealant.
Despite the challenges presented by the previous work done, we maintained our commitment to excellence.
The Result: A Breathtaking Transformation
In less than a day, we transformed Joan’s granite island into a stunning centerpiece of her kitchen. Our careful attention to detail not only restored its aesthetic appeal but also ensured its longevity and resilience against wear and tear.
Joan was thrilled with the outcome:
> “The setup, workmanship, and cleanliness are to be commended. David and Sandro are such a pleasure to have in your home.”
The positive feedback and satisfaction from our clients are what we strive for at Capitol Stone Care. We take pride in our ability to resolve issues that others cannot and to create beautifully restored stone surfaces that our clients can enjoy for years to come.

Revitalizing Marble Counters
Revitalizing Marble Counters
At Capitol Stone Care, our mission is to restore your natural stone surfaces to their original splendor, and we take immense pride in the transformations we achieve. Not long ago, we had the privilege of assisting a family in the DC Metro area who faced significant challenges with their marble kitchen countertops.
The Challenge
When Samantha Brutlag contacted us, she explained her frustrations with the state of her kitchen’s Carrera marble counters and island. After living in the home for 7 1/2 years, the wear and tear from daily family activities had taken a toll on the counters. There were visible chips, scratches, cracks, as well as stubborn watermarks and stains from years of use, and the surfaces had lost their original shine, looking dull and worn.
Samantha expressed her desire to restore the beauty and functionality of her marble surfaces, which had once been a stunning feature of her kitchen. She was looking for a reliable team that could handle this task with the utmost care and attention to detail.
Our Approach
Our team at Capitol Stone Care is committed to delivering exceptional results for our clients, and this project was no exception. We started by conducting a thorough assessment of the countertops to determine the best restoration methods.
Here’s what our process included:
1. Deep Cleaning: We employed specialized cleaning products and techniques designed for marble to remove dirt and grime that had accumulated over the years.
2. Re-caulking: Any areas where the caulking had deteriorated were carefully re-caulked, ensuring a seamless appearance.
3. Chipping and Crack Repair: Our skilled technicians meticulously repaired any chips and cracks, restoring the structural integrity of the marble.
4. Sealing: To protect the countertops from future damage and staining, we applied a high-quality sealant that enhances the stone's natural beauty while providing a robust barrier against spills and wear.
5. Final Polishing: Lastly, we polished the surfaces to give them that vibrant, shiny finish.
Throughout the process, we maintained an open line of communication with Samantha, ensuring she was informed and satisfied with each step.
The Transformation
The results were nothing short of stunning. When we revealed the revitalized countertops, Samantha was ecstatic. The marble looked shiny and vibrant — almost like new! Her kitchen, once dimmed by wear and tear, was now a centerpiece of beauty and elegance.
> "David and his team did an amazing job cleaning, repairing, and sealing our marble kitchen counters... The team was kind, trustworthy, talented, and cleaned up after themselves. I plan to use Capitol Stone Care in the future for all of our marble and stone care needs!" - Samantha Brutlag
