Transforming an Old Irrigation System

At Irrigation 54 LLC, we take pride in providing exceptional services for both residential and commercial properties. One of our recent projects involved revitalizing a client's well irrigation system, which had become increasingly inefficient due to its aging components. Our client, Steven P., reached out to us as he faced challenges with a 40-year-old jet pump that was nearing the end of its life.

The Before: Challenges We Faced

When we first assessed the situation, it was clear that Steven had been living with a few minor repairs since moving in 12 years ago, but the inefficiencies of the system had become more pronounced. Beyond the aging jet pump, there was uncertainty about the location of the buried valve system; Steven had no idea where they were, complicating necessary maintenance.

Our Approach: Expertise in Action

Our team sprang into action, bringing our deep knowledge of irrigation systems and commitment to quality. Here’s how we approached the project:

1. Valve Location: Using specialized tools, we successfully located the buried valves that were spread across two separate locations in Steven's yard. We discovered that one set of valves wasn’t even housed in a proper box, which would complicate future maintenance.

2. Pump Replacement: We replaced the outdated 40-year-old pump with a more powerful 1.5 HP pump. Our philosophy is to install systems that not only solve immediate problems but also prevent future headaches.

3. Valve and Manifold Installation: We upgraded the valves and installed new manifolds to hold them securely in place. This strategic measure will allow for easier maintenance and replacement in the future, ultimately saving our client costs down the line.

4. Quality over Quick Fixes: When we faced an issue sourcing the right pump, we didn’t rush to substitute it with an inferior one. Instead, we delayed our installation until we were able to procure the quality pump that met our standards.

5. Problem Solving: Even after installation, when the new pump wouldn’t shut off, we promptly tackled the problem. Our team exchanged the pressure switch and brilliantly worked together to determine the best configuration for the irrigation zones, optimizing water flow and pressure across the system.

The After: Successful Results

The results of our hard work have been transformative for Steven’s irrigation system. As he enthusiastically shared in his review:

“Now I have less run time due to fewer zones, and I have plenty of pressure to reach those areas I struggled to water. The pump is in the garage and not as noisy! Thank you, James and gang.” --- Homeowner

Not only has Steven benefited from enhanced efficiency, but he also enjoys the peace of mind that comes with our two-year warranty on the work performed.
