Transforming Spaces: Kitchen & Bath Addition
At Neighborhood Construction, we take pride in the transformative projects we complete for our clients, and one of our recent endeavors truly exemplifies this. Julia Capano, a homeowner in Lowell, MA, reached out to us with a vision: she wanted to expand her home with a kitchen, bathroom, and study addition. Having interviewed several contractors over the years, Julia was initially hesitant to commit — that’s when our team stepped in to make a difference.
The Challenge: A Vision for Expansion
Julia's project came with specific challenges. She envisioned a seamless transition from her existing structure to the new addition, including the critical need for a load-bearing beam that would not disrupt the aesthetic of the ceiling. Other contractors had suggested placing a bulky beam, which would have compromised the look of her home. It was essential that we addressed this concern carefully, ensuring that her vision remained intact and functional.
Our Solution: Expert Planning and Execution
When Julia first met with our project manager, Nick, and our lead contractor, Carl, she instantly felt reassured. Carl’s proposal to tuck the load-bearing beam into the ceiling was a game-changer that showcased our innovative approach to home renovations. Additionally, Carl was able to draw the necessary plans himself, saving Julia from the hassle and extra cost of hiring an architect before receiving a ballpark estimate.
Once we commenced the project, our skilled crew, including builders like Alessandro and his team, maintained a standard of professionalism and tidiness. It was crucial for us to minimize disruption for Julia and her neighbors, especially after hearing about their past experiences with other contractors that led to prolonged noise and mess.
“We are extremely happy with our addition and cannot thank Carl, Nick, and the entire staff at Kneeland Construction enough for their efforts. We highly recommend Kneeland Construction,” Julia said in her glowing review. --- Homeowner

Neighbors who initially struggled to endure ongoing construction projects from other contractors were so impressed by our work that one even switched their choice to Neighborhood Construction! That’s the level of satisfaction and trust we aim for with every project we undertake.
