Transforming Closets with Custom Shelving

Transforming Closets with Custom Shelving

When our team at VELDENS LLC was approached by Dev S., he had a unique challenge on his hands—a closet with an irregular trapezoid shape that needed a custom shelving solution. Dev wanted to maximize the functionality of this tight space, but he was unsure how to achieve his vision. He reached out to us, hoping for a reliable and professional service to help bring his ideas to life.

The Challenge: An Irregular Space

Before we started, Dev shared his concerns about his closet. With its awkward shape, he envisioned three shelves, but the thought of using 1/4” plywood felt risky in terms of strength and durability. We listened to his needs and understood the importance of creating a solid and functional space that could withstand daily use.

Our Solution: Custom Design and Quick Execution

Our skilled team took a tailored approach to this project. We assessed the space and created a plan that we believed would not only meet but exceed Dev's expectations. Here’s how we transformed the closet:

1. Customized Materials: We chose stronger materials to ensure the shelves would support the weight Dev intended to store. Adjusting our design, we decided to double up the plywood to enhance strength.

2. Internal Framing: To further fortify the shelves, we added internal framing. This technique not only contributed to the durability but also helped the shelves maintain their shape, despite the closet's irregularities.

3. Speedy Installation: We pride ourselves on our efficiency without compromising quality. This project was completed in under three hours, showcasing our team’s dedication to punctuality and seamless execution.

The Result: A Functional and Beautiful Space

The transformation was remarkable! The custom shelving not only utilized the closet’s unique shape but also enhanced its functionality. Dev expressed his excitement about the solution we provided:

“Denys was great to work with. He was very responsive, communicative, and punctual. He installed custom shelving for us in a closet with an irregular shape (trapezoid). The end result is good, and I appreciate the extra effort to shape the shelves to match the closet. We would have liked to get one more shelf in, but this gives us a great and much more functional closet.” --- Homeowner

Though there was room for one more shelf, Dev was thrilled with the overall improvement. The extra effort we put into the project ensured that he walked away with a highly functional closet tailored to meet his needs.
