I can't say enough good things about this company. We chose to update our heating and air systems in our home in 2016, and obtained proposals from 3 top-rated companies. Mr. Yamin came out, assessed our needs, and provided a bid that was over $2000 less than the other companies we spoke with. Job was completed promptly, on time, and within the proposal. Results have been remarkable-much better cooling during our incredibly hot summers and a major reduction in our electric costs from the City of Austin. They also helped us file paperwork with the Austin Energy to obtain available rebates.
We chose to purchase an ongoing maintenance agreement for the systems. They come out 2x per year to inspect the systems and make sure everything is running at top efficiency. Most recently, their technician "Donald" came to perform the maintenance. Donald was on time and knowledgeable, finding a blockage in a drain line before it could cause any problems.
I can't say enough good things about A Plus Heating and Air.

Called for service n paid $86 for diagnosis. No problem with that. Technician wanted to go against factory setup and install two single run capacitors instead in one (1) dual run... which is also fine. When they want to charge $325 for capacitor service, there's a problem. The technician was nice. However, we feel that $335 for a $10 capacitor is a scam n overpriced. The owner advised that it is what it is, and we advised that this review is what it is. Thanks A-Minus Energy.
I lost $86 for diagnostic to them.
I found another AC company that is fair and honest that charged me $200 I will give 5stars to that company for not taking advantage of people in this heat.

I had the worst customer experience with this company! I know it could be unfair to judge a company just by one technician's service. But I told A+ I was not happy with their technician, and their response was like they do not really care if I am happy or not. If I do not want to use their service, it is fine for them. I never seen such an arrogant service company...
Here is what happened: I found my house A/C cannot cool below 80 degree. When the A+ technician came, he only used 15 minutes for inspection and diagnostics. Note that I paid $76 for the 15-minute inspection and diagnostics.
The technician told me that my A/C was low on refrigerant and had some leakage issue, he can add the refrigerant but would not be able to test the refrigerant leakage, as the device happened to run out of battery (sign of bad management in this company) . He said he would ask the office to call me later to schedule a separate appointment for leakage test. Needless to say, they never called me.
Three weeks later, I called them, wanting to schedule an appointment for leakage test, and found they wanted to charge me extra money (around $50)just for returning service call!!! I argued it was not fair to me as the device went out of battery that day, not my fault. The person on the call (David) started to blame me that the technician said he waited at least 15 minutes for me to finish my call before he started any inspection on that day, and they were really busy, they cannot accept that I wasted their time! I told David that the technician was lying to him, as I was on the phone for only 5 minutes and even during the call, I pointed him to the indoor A/C unit so that he could start the inspection work. He only spent 15 mins in the inspection. I told David that my house has the RING video door bell system, and I can show him the video proof that the technician only stayed in my house for 20 mins for all of his work. But David did not believe me. He even did not say one word of sorry. So even if later on they waived the returning service call for me, I rejected their service. How can I trust a company whose manager would start with blaming clients for wasting their time and blindly defending their staff?
One month later, my A/C stopped working again. I hired another company, and now I know what a good customer service is. Compared to A+, this company really cares about clients! They spent almost one hour for the complete inspection. And after they fixed the A/C problem, they checked every A/C vent to make sure that every vent is blowing cool air. I remember after the A+ technician added the refrigerant, he only checked a couple of vents in the kitchen and he is done.
I believe A+ might have good technicians too! But I would stay away from this company forever!!

I really enjoyed that the person who answered the phone, Craig, was very knowledgeable about the HVAC equipment and did a detailed intake with me, instead of just making a service appt or scheduling someone else to call me. It was nice to know that the sales/engineer & owner that met with us, Greg, helped design the Austin Energy HVAC rebate program. And office admin, Katana, was so responsive in closing out the account with the necessary paperwork and answering questions regarding the extended warranty. Thank you all.

Zero stars if I could! I paid for a maintenance plan, scheduled services, and the technician never showed. I called and I was told he had overslept and that he would be at my house shortly. 45 minutes later I call and they swear he's 2 minutes away. 10 minutes later I call and they tell me his GPS sent him the wrong way. 15 minutes after that I call and ask for another technician and if there are any other services already scheduled. They tell me they don't know and they'd have to look it up, and I tell them to forget it. 15 minutes later I call asking where the technician is and they tell me they've canceled the service call at my request. I ask for a refund and they tell me "We'll see". Their location is a 1/4 mile from my house. These people are clearly the worst.
