I want to begin my review this way: ABC H&CS is a competitor of mine on the commercial HVAC side of things; I swallowed my pride and called them when a number of the "family owned operations' (code for 'we're nice and not bad like those evil BIG companies) not only didn't pick up a phone, but as of two days later still haven't had the courtesy to return the phone call to see if we still needed them.
Here's the short of it. I did some do-it-yourself- electrical-work, and everything seemed to go fine.....right up until a breaker tripped and wouldn't reset. I reviewed my work and nothing jumped out at me. My wife gave me one of those loving-but-telling looks that seemed to indicate she'd sleep a whole lot better if I called a pro to look at the situation. (Which means if I did, I'd sleep a lot better.) I tried 3 companies up in our neck of the wood; two family owned, and one franchise....all of them showed emergency services. Well, either I completely failed on leaving a voice mail -4 times (I called one group twice)- or the companies really don't have weekend/emergency hours. What I do know is that ABC has actual HUMAN BEINGS picking up the phone (something my company does, and something that I think is important if you're in the business of customer service.) They could have gotten there Saturday evening, but I picked a slot on SUnday morning instead.
The good news is that the gentleman from ABC H&CS called 30 minutes ahead. Arrived promptly. Listened to what I had done. Found everything to be in good working order. (When I ran a bead of caulk to conceal a gap, it crossed the terminals and caused a breaker to trip; when it dried, the breaker was able to reset.) In other words, he didn't invent a problem. For $139 peace of mind, it was worth it.
I'd highly recommend this group for their electrical work. Not commercial HVAC. But electrical for sure. ;-)

I live in a newer house in Georgetown and had ABC come up and take a look at our entire system. Since day 1 in our house, we've had heating/cooling issues in one particular room and have replaced the compressor on one of our units 5 times in 7 years. After only a few minutes of being on site, inspecting the attic, room in question, and the unit itself and then using a proven formula based off the square footage, Gary Cremeans (ABC Comfort Advisor) was able to show us exactly how to properly fix our problems for good! Come to find out, we had the wrong size of unit for our house, we were ridiculously short on insulation, and there were not the proper amount of returns for the unit. Gary and ABC worked hard for us during a very busy time of the year (Christmas) to insure we had our problems fixed correctly and quickly! I can't thank them enough for their hard work and dedication...you just don't see customer service like they have any more...it was refreshing!

ABC completed a core aeration on our yard and did a great job. Scheduling was easy, the Technician asked good questions, and aeration was professional. Will use them again.

Believe it or not I have utilized ABC for more than 10 years. You would think - I would be praising the company beyond belief. I would say I have kept the service out of convenience, but the cancellation by ABC (and not myself) is beyond any professional company. I have utilized ABC for pest control, sprinkler repairs, tree pruning, and lawn service. Pest control has been ok and not something I can complain about. Sprinkler system repair - what a joke. I don't know how many times I had someone out that charged us a large amount and could not figure out the problems. There is only one person who knows what they are doing - Paul, but the other team members were really a joke. They would tell me they would get back to me, but they never would. On the lawn services, this one is the biggest disappointment. I have utilized the premium service and because of lack of rain for the last number of years in Austin asked to be billed per visit instead of billed per month to have a lawn mowed which was not growing. This seemed to work and even though it was more expensive, I kept the service for convenience. I would call in every week to cancel the service when I didn't need it and the years passed. This time around, I called 3 times in a row - believe it with no rain and just watering once a week my yard looks pretty bad. I was told by the person I received (Jessica) that ABC would have to cancel my service if I did not go forward with the mow. REALLY? I was told that I was paying per mow and now I am being told that I can't cancel. I asked to talk to a manager, Marco. Marco called me which apparently seemed like he was on the road to tell me it was true that if I didn't have a mowing that ABC would cancel my service but I could sign up for a service to come out when I needed service which would require someone coming out to look at my yard to determine a price. How inconvenient and bothersome. I asked him if this really was the case for someone who was paying per mowing and then the regular spill - well, we are not making any money from you and it would make more sense for you to go to a different plan. I said, but I don't want to go to a different plan as I am only cancelling because the lawn is not growing and this is out of my control. I was told that Marco would contact the GM and would find out if an exception could be made and was called back by Marco to be told the same thing. I was even quoted higher prices for just coming out to blow leaves - something to the tune of possibly being $300 for leaf blowing. I don't know what company this is, but I would highly encourage everyone to avoid calling ABC and going elsewhere. There are a lot of company's out there that can provide this same service and you will be wasting your time utilizing ABC. Not only do they have people that are not trained well, but they charge you way too much and lastly they cancel your service when you don't fit their model

This is also a Better Business Bureau Complaint:
ABC Pest and Lawn, a.k.a. ABC Pest Control, a.k.a. ABC Pest Services, a.k.a. ABC Home & Commercial Services, a.k.a. ChemFree, a.k.a. ABC company's new eMail based billing sends demand letters for payment, without having provided the service. On two occasions I rec'd bills for full payment once when NO service had occurred and a second time when only partial service occurred. After the first incident in July - I called and it was verified by telephone that indeed service was not completed. I was told that I didn't have to pay until service was provided - although the bill states in all capital letters, "DUE UPON RECEIPT". I explained to the customer service person that sending a demand letter for services which are either not provided or only partially provided puts the responsibility of verification on the customer. No change was made to the billing practice. After the second incident, I called and cancelled all services. Problem: This is a "Deceptive Trade Practice" which is "an intentional act or omission in the course of trade or commerce that has the tendency or capacity to mislead or create the likelihood of deception" http://www.duhaime.org/LegalDictionary/D/DeceptiveTradePractice.aspx. If I hadn't been home to verify lack of services, then I wouldn't have known to call and I would have paid the demand letter which is "DUE UPON RECEIPT" for services NOT rendered. ChemFree/ABC does not correlate the bill to the service, they correlate the bill to the technician's planned schedule. I am considering a class action suit because this Deception is occurring with all ChemFree/ABC customers.

You guys! I found a freaking bed bug in my son's room. He's 5 and adorable, and doesn't travel much. I only found one bug and no signs anywhere else. I freaked out, knowing this could cost me $2,000 and days of work. I called my pest control company (not ABC) and they suggested I use some other company, as they don't handle bed bugs. I texted that guy and he emailed me list of all the stuff I had to do - like wash everything in my entire house in hot water before the treatment, vacuum, etc. I asked if he wanted to come take a look and make sure there was a problem in the whole house and he said he would for an $89 deductible, but that the photo of the bug I sent was evidence that there was problem enough. The cost would be $250 for the first room, and $150 for each room after that.
With tears in my eyes, a heart that could barely beat, and arms full of laundry, I called ABC looking for a second opinion. I knew they'd be more expensive than the other guy, but I trusted them more. Plus, they use heat to kill the bed bugs instead just poison.
Within minutes the girl on the phone had me feeling much better. She told me they'd look at the house first (FOR FREE) before coming up with a treatment plan to make sure there was a problem all over the house (what a novel idea!).
The next day my new BFF, Alan, was at my door. He confirmed that my bug prisoner was indeed a bed bug. We headed upstairs to see what he could find. He checked every bed, couch and chair in the house and found NO evidence of more bugs. Somehow my kiddo brought one little bug home. Alan said if I wanted to treat the one room I could, or I could wait and he'd come back in two weeks and check again FOR FREE. So, I'll see Alan again in two weeks and hopefully he will still have good news for me.
Alan & ABC saved me easily $1,400... and a possible arson charge. And again, I'm not a current customer of ABC and they still treated me like I was BeyoncƩ.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, ABC and Alan.
