The folks at AKME were outstanding! I have lived in my home for over 20 years, but just recently had a water intrusion issue in my theatre room. I originally called another company that you see on tv quite often and they wanted me to spend $25,000 on their solution. This would have caused me to cut the sheetrock in over half the walls in the room, remove the flooring along the walls, install their solution and then repair everything. The $25,000 estimate was just for their solution, not the repairs. When Steve Terjung, from AKME came to my home, I explained what we were experiencing. He asked to cut away a small piece of the sheetrock on one of my walls and he located the issue. We had one place where water was getting in through a seam in the foundation. They came out and sealed it up...problem gone. The cost was less than $3,000. Very professional, reliable and thoroughly cleaned up after their work was completed.

I had a leak in my foundation that I tried for a long time to get service. It took months and then I found AKME. Steve came the same day, evaluated the project, gave me a price and sent Bear to make the repair a few days later. Bear walked me through the whole process and had the job complete in a few hours. Highly recommend AKME Waterproofing & Sealants! While refinishing our basement, we found a crack in the foundation and leaks, which stopped all remodeling until a repair was done. After requesting estimates with several companies, Steve at AKME, gave us the best price and the confidence in his company's ability to perform the repair. Within days of our conversation, the repairs were made and our work crews were back on the job remodeling. Good pricing, excellent communication with customers and "Bear" our technician had an amazing attitude and was very efficient and neat in his repair.

AKME Waterproofing is amazing. I'm not sure why you would hire anyone else. These guys showed up early every day and worked hard until the job was done. Steve is a great communicator and answered any questions I had throughout the process. My crawl space was transformed and now looks amazing and is dry. I had been putting off waterproofing my basement for years. The solutions offered didn't feel right and i never got "A" price, there were always add-ons. With the January/February rains, I knew I had to do something and looked again. Found AKME online and figured I would see what they could offer, give me one more option to compare.

Steve came to do the inspection. He wasn't "salesy". Stated facts about the issue. Gave me a proposal that was inclusive of the recommended solution with no add-on options, except for unforseen conditions.

I waited 2 months to make-up my mind . . he never pushed. Understand my timeframe and when I called, remembered the project and walked me through the timeline.

I can't say enough about how professional Steve was. The crews were great and am excited about a dry basement and what I can do with it now.

With all of the rain we were having already this year, we discovered a mini waterfall behind our HVAC and water heaters in our basement back in February! It was quite obvious that this was an issue the previous owners were aware of but did not fix (a dehumidifier left in front of the leak does not count as a fix in my mind).

Unfortunately, we weren’t the only ones with leaky basement issues so the majority of places were not able to come out until mid-March to inspect and give an estimate. Fortunately, I found Steve with AKME Waterproofing. He responded to my message immediately, scheduled a visit and was able to come out and give me an estimate in no time. Not to mention that he has lots of experience (just ask him) and was able to show me lots of other cases he’s worked/working on fixing.

I did have one other company come out and give an estimate and they told me I would need a sump pump and to move the HVAC and water heaters so they could bring in a jackhammer....this was quoted at $6,000+, not including the cost and time I would have to sink into finding someone to move the HVAC and water heaters! Steve thankfully saved my life with a simpler solution of polyurethane injection, which cost me a 1/3 of the other quote. I think you can figure out who I chose.

Steve even took the time to explain that it may take 4-6 weeks before he could even schedule the actual repair (dependent on other jobs and the weather of course), but by that point that would still put us ahead of the other estimates so I was quite happy with waiting.

Finally, Steve called me up mid-March and was able to send out his best employee, Bear, to take care of the job and they were able to knock it out in one day!

Everyone was very polite and professional and efficient in their work. Best even came back the next day to rehang part of the duct work the had to move to complete the job (something I could have easily taken care of on my own!).

I highly recommend AKME Waterproofing not only because they are cost effective, but because they also know what they are doing and have the experience and talent to back it up. If you give them a chance and even just have a conversation with Steve, I don’t think you’d be satisfied with using any other company!
