Pierre is awesome!
I always used a different company for plumbing needs and when I had a semi-urgent need they were all booked up. So they referred me to Austin Area Plumbing. The scheduling was very easy, the lady on the phone was very polite and considerate. She scheduled Pierre to come at the house between 2-4pm next day. Pierre called around 1:30pm and told me he would be there at 1:40pm. He showed up on time. He took a look at the job and mentioned the job is really trivial and I could save $$ if I just go to the Home Depot and buy a 70 cents part and install it myself. He educated me how to install the part and left without charging me anything.
It is hard to find such honest people these days. Keep up the good work Pierre and Austin Area Plumbing. Being a IT Engineer I thought I should give a 5 star review for a 5 star plumber.

Had a great experience. Why? Good question, let me tell you.
It started out rough, through not fault of Austin Area Plumbing.
My home warranty company was not going to cover the work. And it looked like this water heater was shot. So, if I spent money and replaced the control valve, it might be a waste of money.
I talked with Pierre and he was upfront about prices and time and labor costs. I knew I was going to have to get a new water heater soon, and I felt that even though my warranty company stunk, they had sent me a good plumbing company.
I was right. My old water heater was not installed to code and was also a very cheap model. Pierre said get a Rheem, He said it costs more, but it's worth it, he told me the cost of the heater and the cost of labor. I had sticker shock, but I also knew he was going to have to make it up to code, which meant some hard work for him.
On a personal note, he's a very cool person, we talked the entire time he installed, and he told me he appreciated the company. He answered every question, knowing i was eager to learn.
He did a great job welding the copper for the pressure release, which was not on my old one, and was a big reason it wasn't up to code. He is also strong as can be. The new heater barely fits in the closet. he needed to remove some small nipple screws on top, then lift the heater up and get it in. It was easily 100 or more in my garage.
He spent well over two hours getting it working, checking for gas leaks, making sure my flu pipe was on right, added new lines for water input and output. Those were also not up to code.
I knew the day was coming to replace this water heater. It had be shutting off, intermittently over the past few years. When you spend big money, you want a good product and good service. I got that. I also got a great experience. Pierre was fun to hang with, and I don't feel like I spent money on labor, I spent money on being taught how to install a water heater.
I highly recommend them.
We fired our warranty company, but I have to thank them at least for hooking me up with great plumbers, who I will use from now on, for big jobs beyond my pay grade.
I told Pierre I hope I don't see you again, jokingly, but if i need plumbing, I hope to see him again.

I couldn't have been happier with the service I received from Austin Area Plumbing. They were fast, courteous and fairly priced. They're the first guys I'll call next time I need a plumber and will confidently recommend them to friends that are ever in need on one.

Here's the dirt: I found a new plumber. Great service, great pricing. I called Dennis to clear a badly clogged kitchen drain. He came within the hour and worked his magic. He was concerned about the overall performance of the drain and asked me to give him a call the next day if things didn't improve. The next morning HE GAVE ME A CALL and stated he was in the neighborhood and wanted to take a more in depth look into the pipes with my permission. Dennis came over, performed a deep inspection of the pipes, conjured up more magic from his bag of tricks, and completely cleaned and cleared my plumbing from the house to the street. The price for the second visit? Nothing. Dennis is a good, honest plumber. I'm glad to have hired him. You will be too.

Careful using this company, ASK FOR A LICENSE FIRST!! They use unlicensed plumbers so the job can be done at a cheaper rate. Ive never had a worse experience from any company. Amanda barely knows what she is doing and will not get you a plumber on time. The plumber that was sent out was no good, his helper knew more than what he did! After the job was completed I felt like I could of done a better job myself. EVIL STAY AWAY!!

Well, hot damn. I wish every business was run this well with the same caliber of people. Wow.
I recently bought a fixer-upper of a home and been working with a number of contractors and sub contractors, electricians and plumbers, etc. Austin Area Plumbing is the first company I have been wow-ed by.
The admin, Amanda, is super friendly and even remembered me from the last time I called them two months ago. Scheduling was easy, and they do same day service.
I'm not sure I want to tell anyone about Pierre for fear that he'll be too busy to take my calls, but that man is all good things. He called 30 minutes ahead of the appointment to let me know he was on his way. Amanda had said he would be there between 9am and 11am. He was there at 9am on the dot. He's courteous and is really good at explaining/teaching, doesn't upcharge for anything, always looking to save me money, and really fun to chat with all around! Pierre is my plumber for life.
They just moved into larger offices and are expanding into all areas of home repair and remodeling. Their prices are super fair and it's a really well run operation. They have built their business on doing good work, and they are growing quickly because of it.
