I do not write many reviews but these guys are amazing. My backyard was so ugly and I needed something low maintenance. After I saw their work at my friends it was an easy choice. I was on a strict budget. Other companies were not flexible at all. But these guys worked with me. The crew came on time, everyone is polite and professional. I was shocked at how quick the work was done. I now have a lovely yard! I would give them more stars if I could.

Bay Area Turf just finished the install on our turf. The finished product is fairly good and the price was competitive. That said, the install itself was horrendous and the crew damaged my yard irreparably. I wouldn't hire them again unless I was desperate for the lowest possible price and willing to bear the consequences.

Pros:
- competitive price
- quality of the turf material is good
- finished product is pretty good, finely middle of the road but no major defects

Cons:
- the crew foreman didn't speak English and neither did the crew. This left us at times completely unable to communicate. The crew misunderstood the signed contract AND my initial direction and had to redo the work entirely, extending the installation by over a day.
- my irrigation system was cut in several places and I had to replace hoses and sprinklers and manage a leak I didn't find until 2 days late
- the crew stored all the materials overnight on my next door neighbor's property, and only cleaned up superficially, leaving me with an upset neighbor I had to compensate myself
- the crew cut the roots to our 30-year old wisteria tree, which is now dead

We are so happy with the way our front yard turned out!!! The entire process from estimate to final cleanup went smoothly and professionally every step of the way. We started out getting 4 different estimates (from mom and pop type to larger operations) and ultimately decided to go with Bay Area Turf based on price and quality of products. One of our first contacts was with the estimator who was very thorough in taking measurements, notes, and took his time in answering questions and explaining what the process would be. We then got a list of other properties nearby that Bay Area Turf did so that we can get a better idea of how the different turfs looked in larger scale and so we could look at the quality of their work. When the day came for installation the foreman, Kevin, and his team were very professional and hard working from start to finish. Both Kevin and the owner Matthew did a great job explaining things to us every step of the way. We had a front yard full of rose bushes and previous borders that needed to be removed. We had them install the G.O.A.T. gold flow 98 forest with weed barrier which was included and had them add gopher wire and also had them install several stepping stones. We are very happy with our new yard and would definitely recommend them and hire them again if we decided to do other areas of our yard.

I was trying to replace my lawn. And for three weeks and many promises from our text messages, emails and calls they finally told me that they didn't have anything on record . You have to kidding me. Extremely poor costumer service, only sweet talk and promises. Good luck if you are going to make business with Bay Area Turf. My prayers are with you

We have a tricky backyard that’s elevated and terraced. There was no usable green space so we contacted Bay Area Turf to install a putting green and lush fringe. They showed up the day of, totally prepared with all materials and did an outstanding job prepping the site. (I’m talking dirt hauling, plant removal and leveling.) It was amazing to watch all the steps that go into laying turf like this properly. This is no small task and it’s nuanced. Do not cut corners, this needs to be done by professionals and Bay Area Turf is just that. Professional. They gave me fair transparent pricing and sent a nice guy out to scope the project beforehand. The actual turf material used is top of the line and it’s almost impossible to tell it’s not real grass. I sourced some bluestone last minute for the inlays and they accommodated my request no problem. I can’t stop walking around out there barefoot. Super happy with the way it turned out. Oh, I saved some scraps and made doormats for the back doors. 🥳
