I wanted to follow up with an update after my initial review. Matt from Bay Area Turf reached out to me immediately after I posted my review on Yelp, which I greatly appreciated. We discussed what happened and I was open to moving forward with the installation just as long as communication was clear, transparent and timely. Within 48 hours I received the updated quote, signed off on it, and scheduled a time for installation. My husband could not tell from the photos what type of grass he wanted and Matt was kind enough to send us samples and answer my husband's questions. Thomas installed the turf in 2 consecutive days and was mindful to clean up after the job was completed. My husband was a bit concerned about the grass still looking flat after the installation but we were reassured it would stand up when temperatures rise at around 80 degrees. I'll keep you posted on that outcome. Overall, we are happy with the look of the grass in our front yard and I deducted a point due to the initial experience.

Matt has done a marvelous job helping us install the artificial turf. He and his team is skilled, professional, honest and responsible. He provides high quality work at a very reasonable price, and is excellent at communication. It has been a great pleasure and very positive experience working with Matt.
I especially appreciate his flexibility. Our front yard renovation was started as a DIY project. After the turf was delivered and laid out, we realized it was impossible to install the turf by ourselves to meet our standard. Matt and I discussed about our situation and he gave several great suggestions including bringing up the base. He took over and completed the project. Ever since the day he installed the turf, I've got numerous compliments from my neighbors. Thank you, Matt!

We can't say enough great things about Matt and Bay Area Turf. First and foremost, they did a fantastic job for my best friend who lives in the East Bay, so they came highly recommended. However, I wasn't sure if they covered the Peninsula. Well yes they do!!
Right from the start, Matt was very responsive, came out to our house in a timely manner, gave us an estimate and got us on their calendar as soon as they could. They showed up this morning ready to work at 7:30am and finished the job by 4:00pm leaving our yard immaculate. They were extremely professional, honest, totally reliable and most importantly they did a absolutely stellar job when it came to putting in our turf. It looks beautiful! I can't say enough great things about them including the fact that their prices were fairly reasonable. I called a few other companies to compare, and not only were they the least expensive, Matt was really honest with me. He could have sold us the gopher wire which would have been an extra $300, however we told him that we haven't had any problems in our area with gophers, and he said then you don't need it! Of course he could have said, yes you should get it just in case, but that wasn't his response. Rarely do you find that kind of honesty which was very much appreciated.

Scheduling an appointment, getting a quote and even negotiating a price was easy. Matt the Manager is friendly enough. I have a couple of gripes though. The first of which is the mess they left behind. Trash and debris that needed to be cleaned up including some piles of the material they use as compress which were a real pain. The second issue I had was with the fact that they cancelled their second day of work on us and rescheduled. The cancellation wasn't the issue, the fact I had to follow up with them day of to find out was the problem.

All in all they do good work. I just expected a cleanup at least.

Matt and his crew were terrific. There were about five weeks between accepting the quote and when work was scheduled to start. In that time, Matt was available to answer my questions via email.

My front yard took three days to complete. Each morning the crew started early, 7:30am, which was great for me because I could talk about the project and get updates before work. On the first meeting with Matt, I walked through my plans in detail and he made everything happen.

I went with the SuperNatural80 turf and you can see from my pictures that the seams are done well. My front yard required joining three separate rolls.

I received a few quotes and Bay Area Turf was one of the most reasonable by price. After this project, I would say that they are the best value as well. I am glad I went with them and would definitely use them again.

I made an appointment with them last thursday, August 15th to have someone come to the house to give me an estimate for an artificial turf lawn. I even got an email on the same day confirming that a Matthew Watkins will coming over to the house today, thursday, August 23rd, at 9:30 am. Well, I woke up early today for the appointment, and 9:30 arrived and nobody showed up. So I gave them a call at around 10 am to follow up on the appointment, and the lady said she would have someone call me right away. Anyway, I waited till around 10:40 am and no one called. So, I called Bay Area Turf again and the same lady answered and she said she would have someone call me as soon as possible. It is now 12;30 pm and and no call or appearance by anyone. How very unprofessional. Why make the appointment and not show up. If you got delayed, at least give me a courtesy of a call. Buyer Beware. If I could give them no stars, I would.
