I recently had significant electrical work completed in my 1954 home in the City of Fairfax performed by Beacon Home Services. My entire experience was outstanding from beginning to end. Beacon's services are totally customer-oriented. The office staff schedule and notify you of all visits via phone call, text and e-mail. The dispatch calls you when the service personnel are enroute to your home. The communication is fantastic, timely and dependable. I would like to compliment Rebecca and Tiffany for their excellent customer service in setting up and managing all of my visits. Most notably, my experience with the assigned electricians was absolutely fantastic! During our initial visit, my electricians Craig Hicks and John went room-by-room in my home, into the attic, the basement and outside the entire perimeter of my house, to include all porches, gazebos, etc., they reviewed a Home Inspection Report that I had recently had done and listened to all of my concerns, issues, and the requested work that I needed and desired to be performed. They also made excellent suggestions and recommendations to me. I was so impressed with their thoroughness during the walk-thru, their attention to detail, their professionalism, and excellent rapport that I signed up for the work on-the-spot and we started the job the very next week. On the dates of service, Craig and John were ALWAYS on time every single visit. I appreciated that immensely. My particular jobs were broken down in three phases/priorities and these were completed back-to-back. Craig was so outstanding in answering all of my questions each day upon arrival and was extremely patient and professional. Specifically, some of the work I had completed included a new electrical panel with room for expansion, new electrical meter, service entry cable, some of the old rag wiring replaced, new outlets and switches (inside and outside) which include covered outlets for outdoors, new recessed retro-fitted light fixtures, a new attic fan, and more. During the course of the work my electricians pointed out many safety concerns and brought them to my attention immediately. They also had a plan to remediate any new issue or problem that was discovered. As part of the scope of work, we took out some very old ceiling boards in one-half of the laundry-room. This was a grueling task and hard work. As a result, we discovered a real mess - overloaded junction boxes, uncovered junction boxes and much more. Craig even discovered and noted to me that my refrigerator (which was old) was leaking into the basement! Turns out it was also leaking in my kitchen! Lucky for me, I was able to get a new refrigerator as soon as possible. Craig and John worked great together as a team! They were strategic in planning and executing the work, they kept me informed at each step of the way and they were seriously hard workers. They both also had a fantastic sense of humor and were a pleasure to have in my home. Most importantly, I came away from the experience more educated about the electrical devices and components in my home and many of my fears/concerns were also quelled by having such calm talented professionals doing the work. I am so happy that my home is now safer and the work completed was top quality. I am also pleased and relieved that my work is covered by Beacon's 10-Year Warranty. Going forward, I do have more electrical work that I wish to complete and Craig further answered all of my questions about what those projects would entail and recommended a suggested plan/approach. When I do complete the additional projects, Beacon Home Services will get the job and hopefully Craig Hicks and John will be available as my electricians. Lastly, I also signed up for Beacon's Lighthouse Club which provides one electrical and one plumbing inspection each year. I am looking forward to having that added protection as well. I was so apprehensive about contacting an electrician simply because I like to do things myself and the potential for inflated costs due to it being such a specialty trade area. David was very professional, friendly and attentive to my concerns. He displayed patience the entire time, never seeming rushed to get to another job. After fixing the primary issue, he took the time to sit down and explain all options to consider long term without trying to push a sale.
