Okay, so repeat customer here. But no more. We had these guys out to do some custom lighting in our MBR shower and install a whole house surge protector. We were so impressed over the work that we decided to call them back when we had probably an entire day's worth of work for them to do. Unfortunately that didn't work out so well. They gave us separate quotes for each task, which were estimated at the absolute nightmare case scenario. So for example, they wanted over $500 to replace a bathroom fan. And we had FOUR of these to replace. So $2000 just to replace four bathroom fans. (Note: we bought the exact same fans on Amazon for $30; it took less than 1/2 hour to replace ONE.) When they presented their prices, they gave this sales pitch that was basically bragging about good reviews and ratings. When I questioned the prices (seriously, you should not be building in a separate service call for each task -- there's something called "economy of scale"...), they started another pitch about where all the money goes, including advertising. Right.

They also quoted us over $1200 to install a ground on an outside propane tank and claimed it would take 3-4 hours and involved the panel. We did have them do that work, since that seemed like something we'd want a licensed electrician to do. It wound up taking them less than an hour, yet they would not lower the price. I'd LOVE to make $1200 per hour. By my estimate, that job was about 6-7x the going hourly rate for a good electrician in this area. That was just ridiculous. They won't be back.

He explained clearly what he was going to be doing, and the cost potential. Jimmy spent about an hour solving the wiring issue that had been plaguing our upper floor, and gave me a couple of options for fixing it. He even recommended the less costly option. He got everything cleaned up and finished in no time. I'm a cheapskate so I winced at the final cost for less than two hours of work, but I recognize these are well-trained professionals and I got exactly the results I needed quickly, and with very friendly service. I would definitely call them if I have another electrical job or issue.
