Our experience with Beacon Electrical Services has left me and my wife very pleased and impressed with the work they done for us. We had a fan installed in our newly constructed deck enclosure. There was no supporting wiring or cabling for a fan installation. Bob Hanifin (the owner) and his technical assistant and electrician Brandon Lewis formulated a plan for the fan installation and support wiring needed for an outside environment. These gentlemen are great electrician, Bob runs his company with the utmost respect for customers' needs and desires. Brandon is an exceptional and knowledgeable electrician who works hard to give us a perfect installation. He was determine to complete the work to our satisfaction and did precisely that! I felt as if the value of the job done far exceeds the price of the job itself! I would recommend these guys to anybody in the area in need of a quality, reliable and affordable electrician. Bob and Brandon did a great job and completely satisfied my wife and I. You won't be disappointed if you hire this team to address your electrical needs.

We had trouble with an failing outlet in the laundry room on a Monday afternoon, and Deirdre in the office got us an appointment for the following day. Bob M. arrived on time, did a quick troubleshoot and solved the issue. While others might have made just as quick an exit, Bob took the time to check the nearby circuits and the electrical panel to inspect the setup. He provided some useful info on GFCI circuits, especially with respect to appliances, he patiently answered a lot of questions from me, and provided some helpful recommendations for future updates we're thinking about. I don't think they are the least expensive option out there, but there are a few things that are worth paying for, and I think a good electrician is one of them. I would definitely recommend Beacon -- personable and knowledgeable -- these guys are solid professionals.

We lost power on the second floor of our home just as we brought home our newborn baby girl. Beacon Electrical was highly rated on Yelp and on Angie's List, so we gave them a call. The company's answering service got us on the calendar and, within a few days, Lloyd arrived to help us repair the issue with our panel. He was able to restore electricity to the second floor - including the baby's new nursery! While he was here, I asked him to provide an estimate for child-proofing the electrical work in our home, to include outlets, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors. Lloyd did that and more! He noticed some electrical repairs that needed to be done, worked efficiently, and provided a prompt estimate for the work. He completed as much as he could that day, then returned during another visit to complete the project. Lloyd was prompt, attentive, efficient and extremely knowledgeable (with decades of relevant experience!). It was a pleasure working with him. We expect to have the Beacon team return to install ceiling light / fan wiring throughout the house.

Found Beacon through Angie's list and I am so happy I did! Lloyd was the best! He was thorough, detailed, kind, and most importantly on time! I am so pleased with his work that I even asked for additional improvements to be made.

We had Beacon send someone over to give us an estimate. It cost $30 for the estimate, which they would take off of any work they performed. The quote we got was so high I do not think they were interested in doing the work. We wanted recessed lighting in our living room, which shouldn't be too difficult because there is access to the ceiling from our attic. The quote was incredibly high. When my wife asked why it would be so expensive when there is access through the attic, the guy joked "I don't want to go up there because I'm too fat." We now have quotes from other highly rated electricians for significantly less money, oh and by the way, those electricians did not charge for an estimate. Long story short, I wasted $30 having them come to our house.

If there's a way to save money, I'm on it. I try to fix household problems myself, however, oftentimes I end up spending more than if I had hired a professional in the first place! That was the case with my kitchen light. I was able to replace the ballast however, I managed to pull the fixture out of the ceiling as I removed the frame around the light. This is where I drew the line and decided to call for help. I found Beacon Electrical Services on Yelp.
I contacted them on line on Thursday afternoon and they arrived on Friday morning. There were excellent communications between the service tech (Mike Beaumier) and the dispatching office (Heidi). Heidi was in contact with Mike constantly and provided me with timely updates, and Mike called me as he was leaving his last job. That alone, stands above any other repair service I've dealt with. That was the First Star.

Mike was prompt and arrived at the promised time. He was considerate, courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. I appreciated Mike's thoughtfulness when he slipped coverings over his shoes before entering my house, even though the ground was dry outside. That warranted the Second Star.

When he arrived we discussed my immediate problem with the kitchen light, and then he offered to perform a free-of-charge inspection of all the electrical connections and outlets, which I gladly agreed to. As we walked through each room of the house, he brought attention to anything that was out of code. Thankfully there were only a couple of those items! None-the-less, after the inspection was completed, we reviewed the list of recommended fixes. He took a few minutes to prepare several options for my consideration. After I prioritized the list, he began the work. He (properly) re-installed the kitchen light and made sure it was securely fastened to the ceiling, something that had not been done correctly using the DIY method!! Afterwards he remedied one of the out-of-code items by bonding the gas piping to the main ground panel. That was the Third Star.

I love those electronic tablets they use! Everything was neat and orderly - no stack of papers to file away; no hunting for a pen, because you could sign with your fingernail! He emailed copies of all the prepared options and prices, as well as my receipt. It was good to have a list of things that should be looked at in the future. That was the Fourth Star.

I thought their prices were fair. Even though the service fee is waived if work is performed, their charge of $39 (if no work is performed) is considerably less than similar services. That was the Fifth Star.

I am very pleased with the work performed and by the attitude and professionalism of the staff of Beacon Electrical Services. I will definitely plan to use them again for future electrical work!
