Before the Transformation
Our client, Dave H., contacted us with concerns regarding their 24-year-old air conditioning unit and an even older furnace. The system wasnāt performing as it should, and with summer approaching, it was crucial to ensure a reliable climate control solution. Daveās urgent need for comfort during the soaring temperatures led him to connect with our skilled team.

Revamping Home Comfort with HVAC
At Best Owner Direct HVAC, we take pride in delivering high-quality solutions that not only enhance comfort but also promote energy efficiency in our clients' homes. Recently, we had the opportunity to work on a transformative project in Cornelius, where we replaced an outdated gas furnace from the 1990s with a modern 17 SEER heat pump and air handler system.
Understanding the Challenge
Our client, Madison Wellington, reached out to us because they were tired of their old gas furnace that just couldn't keep up with their heating needs anymore. The technology was outdated, leading to inefficiencies that negatively impacted both comfort and energy bills. They wanted a solution that not only provided superior heating but also helped reduce their environmental footprint.
Madison turned to us for advice and expertise, and we were excited to help guide them through the process of upgrading their HVAC system.
The Transformation Process
Our team, led by Cody, began by conducting a thorough assessment of Madison's home. We explained the various options availableāhighlighting the pros and cons of each tier of heat pump systems. We believe that informed clients make the best decisions for their homes, and we ensured Madison felt confident in their choice.
One of the standout features of this project was our assistance with the Oregon rebates for high-efficiency systems, which provided financial relief and made the switch even more appealing.
Once the selection was made, we scheduled the installation. Our experienced crew arrived promptly, ready to handle the job with professionalism. They worked diligently to ensure every component was installed correctly, going above and beyond to complete the task even as evening approached.
> "The install process was great! The crew showed up on time, worked very hard to make sure all the bits and pieces were installed correctly," said Madison.
A particular highlight was our contract electrician, who expertly wired everything while remaining committed to the task, even at the cost of possibly missing dinner with family.
The Successful Outcome
After the installation, our owner, Kevin, personally oversaw the system's first startup. This hands-on approach ensured that everything operated as intended and gave Madison peace of mind. Kevin was available to answer any questions they had, reinforcing our dedication to customer service.
Madison expressed their satisfaction with the entire process and praised our team's open communication.
> "These guys were professional, on budget, and the lines of communication were open and prompt," Madison noted in their review.

Transforming Comfort: A Heat Pump Upgrade
Transforming Comfort: A Heat Pump Upgrade
At Best Owner Direct HVAC, we take immense pride in improving the comfort and efficiency of homes throughout Cornelius, OR. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with a client, Michael Gutmann, who sought our expertise for upgrading his older gas furnace to a modern heat pump system. This project not only enhanced their home's heating and cooling but also showcased our commitment to exceptional service and quality.
The Challenge: An Outdated Heating System
Michael reached out to us feeling the limitations of his existing gas furnace, especially regarding energy efficiency and the lack of central air conditioning. With the rising energy costs and increasing need for a reliable cooling solution, he wanted to explore a better option. It became clear that upgrading to a heat pump would provide the dual benefits of efficient heating and cooling, which were essential for his 2400 sqft home built in 1937, notably with contemporary insulation and new windows already installed.
Our Solution: A Heat Pump Installation
Our team quickly got to work on providing a competitive and affordable quote for the heat pump installation. We ensured meticulous planning and execution, emphasizing the system's capacity to deliver optimal performance. On the day of installation, we replaced the outdated furnace and installed the new heat pump system, which not only met but exceeded Michael's expectations.
One key factor in the success of this project was our team's ability to address the installation's specifics, ensuring proper hookup and operational efficiency. After our installation, a PGE heat pump engineer inspected our work and commented on how well everything had been executed, confirming our commitment to quality.
Overcoming Hurdles
During the post-installation period, a minor leak was detected in the interior water pump. Michael called us, and we were at his home the same day, ready to rectify the issue. This responsiveness is what we stand forābeing there for our clients when they need us the most. Once the issue was resolved, the system began working flawlessly, reinforcing our dedication to outstanding customer care.
The Result: Enhanced Comfort and Savings
Michael was truly pleased with the performance of his new heat pump. He noted the remarkable efficiency of the system, stating, "With a 3600w solar array, we paid zero for the AC this past summer." The performance during colder months has similarly impressed him, as the cost remained reasonable even when auxiliary heating coils were activated.
His feedback showcases not just a successful installation but also how our work has significantly enhanced his home's comfort and energy efficiency.
> "To make a long story short, Iām referring BOD to friends and neighbors as a great HVAC/heat pump installer. And thatās probably the best review one can make." - Michael Gutmann
