4*. And just to be clear, I give 4* rating selectively. For me, 4* is a high rating, not often given. 3* means service was provided "as expected", with no hiccups or issues. 4* means exceeds expectations. 5* means there was stellar performance. To get a 5* rating means that some item came up during the work and it was handled in a manner that went beyond expectations; something that caused my jaw to drop. For 75% of projects nothing happens that would cause me to give a 4th star. For 5% to 10% of project something happens that creates an opportunity for stellar performance. If the company then provides stellar performance, they get the 5th star. If the company responds adequately they get a 4th star. If they don't respond adequately they drop to 2*, or 1* if they bungle entirely. I mention this because I want readers to understand that my 4* rating in no way indicates that there was anything wrong or that they could have done better; rather it means that they did more than expected, and I would recommend without hesitation.

With that intro ... I encountered Better Air NW on-line after seeing a GroupOn offer from one of their competitors, offering full duct cleaning for $39. My business is professional services, and I know what it costs to put a person in truck with specialized gear to do work. But $39!!! That isn't going to cover the variable cost (labor, materials, etc,) for the work. I occasionally bid projects "aggressively" for strategic considerations, And the only way any sane business person could bid a project below variable cost is if the project would lead to a continuing service contract. Which doesn't really apply in this situation. So for $39 I figure I"m either going to get piss-poor performance, or some kind or a hard pitch upsell that means I"m going to have to pay more money to get what I thought I got with the GroupOn in the first place.

Google is my friend, and Googling confirms my suspicions about the GroupOn. But Googling also leads Better Air NW, and I read the reviews. In short order I am convinced. The fees are realistic for the work performed. (Again, I am in the professional services business, and I fully know what it costs to provide these types of services.). Customers almost uniformly report that Better Air NW came, they did what they said they were going to do, they charged what they said they were going to charge. And isn't that pretty much what you expect from a business???

They did have an issue making the originally scheduled appointment. They got in touch with me using my contact info, with sufficient notice to be able to make alternate arrangements. And they then did the dryer duct cleaning I had ordered for free as recompense for not meeting the original commitment. That garnered them the 4th star. If that adjustment is something that would cause you to give them a 5* then by all means mentally boost my rating to 5*/

In sum, this was a fine relationship and I can recommend Better Air NW without hesitation.

Like many other reviewers, I found this company right here on Yelp. We have been using the same company for years and figured it was time to look at other options. All these 5-star reviews caught my eye so I visited their website and was surprised their prices are 20%-25% lower than most quotes I had received. I decided to email them and got Jill's response right away. She answered all my questions promptly and advised me to schedule the appointment online. Process was easy and simple. On the day of the appointment, I received a call from the technician, Justin, at 8am sharp. He was courteous, professional and he was great with my dog who can get very excited with anyone who walks through the door. The job was very well done and completed right on schedule. I am impressed and I have already recommended them to my coworker. If you are looking for air duct and/or dryer vent cleaning, this is the place to call.

Great service! I wasn't able to be home while they made their visit, but I left a keybox outside and they called when they arrived and when they left, and emailed me the before and after pictures of the work they did. Everything was clean and tidy and they left a full report of what they found. They also made a follow-up visit to check on our furnace and to answer some questions I had and make some recommendations, which was very nice of them. Their scheduler Jill was also very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Sean and Jason did an AWESOME and outstanding job of cleaning our air ducts and dryer vent. They were both very friendly and very informative. Everything was explained prior to starting the job and we couldn't have asked for better service. You get what you pay for and these guys are worth every penny. Don't get suckered into the cheap deals or special coupons, because the service will be accordingly. Get it done right the first time and hire Better Air NW!

The whole process with this outfit was fantastic. Called on Monday talked with Jill one of the owners, told her I was interested in getting the air ducts cleaned perhaps before I had a baby. Then I went on to share that I was due in three days. Monday the following week was the soonest they had available I said OK. Jill offered to put me on the call list if someone cancelled. I was lucky someone canceled and they came out just two days later, Wednesday afternoon. Shawn and his brother came out, little did they know what they were getting themselves into. Our property was a rental before we bought it. I will spare the gross details of everything found in the ducts but they worked vigorously the whole time. I would recommend Better Air Northwest in a heart beat. Not to mention they were just nice, hardworking, down to earth men.

Based on all these good reviews, I chose this team to clean the air duct of my house.

They came, did an estimate first. They told me it would take them 2.5-3 hours to finish the work.

And then 50 minutes later, they finished their work.

So either they are not that professional or they lied.
