This rating is a reflection of their sales process for HVAC install, which in my mind is a big part of the overall rating for a company. I originally used them for air duct cleaning and they did a phenomenal job at an attractive price. Their technicians were very courteous and I had nothing to complain about.

Due to this excellent experience I decided to get a quote to add an AC system to my current Furnace. I was told that they couldn't install an AC on my existing furnace as it was 12 years old and recommended that I replace it with a new HVAC system. I was quoted a price that was better than market pricing for the installation of a brand new furnace and AC combo. Due to other projects needing attention at the time, I decided to not move forward with the install.

However I was impressed with them enough to give them a call 10 months later when I was ready to do the install. By this time I had realized what the installs typically cost with a variety of other companies as I was shopping around. So it wasn't a surprise to me when I was told that they were misquoting lower pricing earlier and they wanted to revisit to provide a more accurate quote. I agreed because I had suspected that this was why their pricing was better than market average earlier. But when they did the new quote, they mentioned that it was now possible to just add an AC only to my now 13 year old furnace. Also, the quote for just the AC only purchase ended up being more than the quote for both the AC and furnace. While I appreciate their honesty on the reason why they had to adjust costs, I expected that they would look at my old quote to come in slightly higher to account for true costs plus some profit, and not just double the estimate. This was very disappointing and financially didn't make sense given the other quotes from competing businesses. So I decided not to get an AC installed through Better Air NW.

I wish them well because I genuinely liked talking to Justin the first time around. However I really hope they take this feedback in to consideration especially when they deal with folks they had misquoted earlier. While no business likes to operate at a loss, doubling the quoted cost seems like a dangerous way to trade goodwill for operating profits.

Incredibly professional staff that helped me in every way imaginable when my old furnace failed. From offering to help keep my house warm until they could get a new furnace installed, less then one week later, they could not have done more. Services provided exceeded expectations in every way and I would recommend them to any friends or family.

I can't speak highly enough of my experience with this company. I'm a new homeowner, and I had Justin out in January to check out my furnace and make sure everything was safe and up to par. He was so helpful with his advice and made sure I understood what I needed to know with my system. Additionally, I just had them out again for a completely duct cleaning, and Chris and Roy were just as helpful and professional. They left my place in better condition than they found it, and again gave me lots of tips with no stressful up-selling. (I feel like this happens to me a lot when I'm not knowledgeable about something and completely at the mercy of those that are. For example: cars). I just received honest recommendations for how to maintain everything, and fantastic customer service. I will be a repeat customer as long as I have a house!

As I normally do I looked at Yelp to find a company to inspect & clean our furnace prior to winter (didn't wait till we needed the furnace to set an appointment, contacted them in August).

Was pleased with the reviews for this company (have learned with reasonable accuracy to spot flawed or phony reviews) and contacted them. They were EXTREMELY responsive and came out in a couple of days and were easy to deal with from a payment perspective (unlike others who penalize you for using a card). The tech was very respectful of our CoViD rules, seemed to do a good & thorough job, and the price seemed very reasonable given the fact that he was there for several hours. He gave me a comprehensive assessment of our furnace's condition after and answered all questions. I figured we'd use them again for future repairs and annual maintenance.

Why not 5 stars? (as with others, wish I could do 3 1/2) One thing I discovered hours after bugged me and my "bug" was confirmed today when we fired up the furnace for the first time this season.

A few years ago we had the ducts cleaned which still had construction debris from 2008. That company (not BA NW) did a great job of sealing the hole they have to cut in the outgoing plenum to clean them with a sheet metal patch, foil HVAC adhesive tape, and screws. Nearly air tight. This guy removed the patch to clean and inspect, but used the removed tape to "reseal". It was all wrinkled and bunched up. After a few hours today it separated from the plenum and warm air was spewing into our uninsulated garage.

So now I've got to make an unnecessary trip to the hardware store (as a senior at risk) to buy the tape and take the time to remove and replace the tape and screws. Seemed lazy for a guy who didn't seem lazy, but my guess is that his truck was out of the tape.

I was looking for a new furnace cleaning company which could also service my gas fireplace insert, plus I wanted a duct cleaning (in my quest to purge all traces of the previous owners from my home!). Better Air NW fit the bill and had great reviews to boot. Scheduling was easy, office staff and communication are on point, and I really appreciate that they text and email the full name of the technician before their arrival. The furnace and fireplace cleaning were one day, the ducts a week later, and both went smoothly. The only blemish was when the second technician started a little lecture about how my furnace filter was in wrong and how to understand the printed arrows -- that is how he, and I, learned that the first tech had put the filter in wrong. Hopefully that was a simple oversight and not indicative of a general carelessness. Still, I was happy enough with everything else that I will try this company again.
