The design portion of the job went really well and we loved the whole team. We ended up doing a four seasons room, a deck on top of that, and renovating our bathroom at the same time. The county was a little slow with permitting, however, I completely understood the process as laid out to me in the beginning.

I committed an error by going with a less expensive contractor instead of BCS to redo my back yard.

I had two separate people recommend this company, however, I was being price conscious so I went with another firm that had actually pretty good reviews.

Well, the contractor I hired completely messed up the patio, cut a lot of corners on the fence and messed up the design on the screened in porch.

When I talked to the Montgomery county inspector, he exclaimed that this is happening more and more nowadays with contractors cutting corners.

It was an extremely uncomfortable situation and my wife and I felt powerless.

Anyways, we had a great experience with blue collar scholars during their estimating process and we knew they have done a lot of work in the neighborhood so I decided to call them back.

They re-did most of the work and were able to rebuild the screened in porch properly. Of course, now the back yard looks amazing!!!

I honestly wish I went with this company from the beginning, I ended up having to spend more money and wait longer because of the mess ups.

I still feel awkward with the first firm because they were pretty aggressive about me not posting anything online. It's kind of tough because now they know where I live obviously!

All in all, I have to say very kind words about everyone at the Blue Collar Scholars organization. I understand it is hard to run a business, let alone a great business. However, this team seems so dedicated and enthused to do a great job through thick and thin.
