Transforming an Eye-Sore into Beauty
Transforming an Eye-Sore into Beauty
At Brady Landscaping & Construction, we take immense pride in transforming outdoor spaces into stunning, functional environments. Recently, we had the opportunity to work on a project that truly exemplified our commitment to customer satisfaction and craftsmanship. Our clients reached out to us with a common yet challenging issue: their yard had become the eye-sore of the neighborhood, and they simply didnât have the time or resources to whip it back into shape.
The Before: A Neglected Yard
When we first arrived at Somer P.'s property, it became immediately clear why they were feeling overwhelmed. The yard was cluttered, had an unkempt appearance, and contained multiple drainage issues that made it a constant source of frustration. Somer explained to us that they had prior experiences with landscapers who flaked on commitments, often failing to show up or maintain communication. Understandably, they needed a reliable partner who could not only deliver results but also maintain clear communication throughout the process.
The Transformation Process
After our initial consultation, where we discussed Somerâs vision for their yard, our team sprang into action. Here are some of the critical steps we took to refresh this landscape:
1. Design Planning: We collaborated closely with Somer to develop a design that would revitalize their yard while addressing key functional issues.
2. Building Retaining Walls: One of the significant changes we made was constructing a retaining wall that would help with the existing drainage problems, preventing water from leaking into their garage.
3. Irrigation Solutions: Our team revamped the existing irrigation system, ensuring it was both efficient and effective, which subsequently benefited their trees and plants.
4. Creating Levels and Borders: To enhance the aesthetic appeal of the yard, we introduced levels and borders that added structure and visual interest to the landscape.
5. Final Touches: We installed beautiful plants and landscaping features to bring it all together, ensuring it aligned with the modern and clean look that Somer had envisioned.
The After: A Beautiful New Landscape
The end result was nothing short of spectacular! Somer expressed their excitement at how the yard finally matched their dreams and expectations.
> âWithin a week our front yard is finally what weâd always hoped for. They introduced a level and border, built a retaining wall, and resolved our irrigation mess. They also fixed major rainwater drainage areas that have been leaking into our garage! Our neighbors say itâs extremely pretty.â - Somer P.
This transformation not only resolved the practical issues of drainage and irrigation but also enhanced the overall curb appeal of the property. Somer and their family can now enjoy their outdoor space without the previous frustrations.
Conclusion
At Brady Landscaping & Construction, our mission is to breathe life into outdoor spaces that not only meet but exceed our clients' expectations. We are thrilled to have turned Somerâs eye-sore yard into a beautiful, functional outdoor haven.

Recently, we had the pleasure of working on a transformative landscaping project in Longmont, CO, which turned an overwhelmed homeownerâs vision into reality.
Before the Transformation
When we first connected with Michael T., he shared his frustrations stemming from a year of disappointing experiences with various contractors during his home renovation. Hesitant yet hopeful, he approached us to take on a massive landscaping project that involved regrading the property, laying concrete, creating hardscape features, and setting up a complete irrigation system. Michael was understandably cautious given his previous encounters, but he sought our expertise in delivering a solution that would not only enhance his home but align with his budgetary limitations.
The Transformation Process
Our team, led by Mark Brady and project manager Alberto, dove into the project with enthusiasm. Hereâs how we approached this significant undertaking:
1. Initial Consultation: We started with a thorough consultation to fully understand Michaelâs goals and budget constraints. By establishing a clear line of communication, we ensured that we could tailor the project to meet his needs effectively.
2. Planning and Design: After gathering all the necessary information, we developed a detailed plan that included the essential elements of landscaping, hardscaping, and irrigation. Each aspect was designed to complement the home's aesthetics and functionality.
3. Execution of the Plan: With the plan in place, our experienced crew worked diligently on-site. We faced several challenges, including the complexity of regrading the property to ensure proper drainage. Our teamâs expertise in hardscaping allowed us to seamlessly integrate various features, from beautiful walkways to functional patios, enhancing the overall landscape.
4. Attention to Detail: Throughout the project, we focused on the finer details. Markâs passion for his work shone through as he proposed significant enhancements that would elevate the outdoor spaceâadding several features at no extra charge because he believed they would make a substantial difference in appearance.
The Final Result
The result of our efforts was nothing short of spectacular. Michael expressed his delight, stating, > âThe work is exceptional. All our neighbors have remarked how excellent our house looks after Mark and his teamâs work.â
The transformation included:

Transforming a Harsh Yard into a Family Oasis
Transforming a Harsh Yard into a Family Oasis
At Brady Landscaping & Construction, we believe that every outdoor space has the potential to become an inviting sanctuary. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with a family who had a vision to transform their xeriscaped yard into a lush and comfortable environment. When they reached out to us, they were eager to revitalize the harsh landscape left behind by the previous owners.
The Challenge
When Jim and his family moved into their new Longmont home in 2020, they inherited a yard entirely covered in river rock, scattered boulders, and minimal soft landscaping. While xeriscaping is water-efficient, it often lacks the inviting feel that many homeowners desire. Jim expressed to us, "For years, we dreamed of transforming it into something that better fit our lifestyle, a place where our family (and dog!) could relax and play."
Determined to create a more comfortable outdoor space, Jim and his family began the arduous task of shoveling up the rock themselves. Once they committed to the project, they realized it was time to bring in professionals to help actualize their vision.
The Process
After reaching out to five landscaping companies and meeting with four, Jim and his family selected our team at Brady Landscaping & Construction. What set us apart was our commitment to collaboration and thorough understanding of their needs. As Jim noted, âBrady went a step further⊠They invested more time on-site than all the others combined.â
The project's scope was ambitious, consisting of:
- Removing all remaining river rock and mulch
- Grading the side yard for better drainage
- Adding a flagstone landing at the bottom of the stairs
- Reworking large stones in the side yard
- Relocating ornamental grasses and planting new ones
- Installing a new irrigation system with 5 zones
- Sodding the rear and side yards for instant greenery
- Adding mulch around the patio and border areas for visual softness
Our team approached each step with expertise, quality craftsmanship, and dedication to maintaining open communication with Jim throughout the entire process.
The Transformation
The transformation was completed in just a week and a half, and for a total project cost of $10,900, Jim and his family were thrilled with the final results. Three weeks post-project, Jim shared his experience, stating:
> "Now, three weeks later, we couldnât be more thrilled. The sod looks beautiful, the irrigation is working flawlessly, and the entire space feels transformedâsofter, greener, and infinitely more inviting."
Our attention to detail and commitment to quality truly made a difference in how this space was perceived. Jim and his family can now enjoy their outdoor oasis, complete with a flourishing green lawn and beautifully arranged plants, perfect for both relaxation and play.
Conclusion
This project was an incredible opportunity for our team at Brady Landscaping & Construction to put our expertise to work, creating a space that aligns beautifully with our clients' lifestyle and needs.
