Our dryer started smoking and we were told by a dryer technician to get our dryer vent cleaned. We used Cal Duct Cleaning and they saved us! Our dryer is working and is way more efficient then it had been. The house we are in, is a temporary rental so we didn't know where the vent was, but Cal Duct went above and beyond and found it (on the roof!). It was fast, and I felt very confident he did a through and complete job!

I used Yelp to send out quote request. Cal Duct Cleaning was the first to reply. The owner is very responsive. The quote is the most competitive among all those replied. This is not the reason I chose this company. The owner answered my questions both on line and over the phone. I think the answer was easy to understand given I am not familiar with heater duct. Being dusty or not is very high in my priority. I was told ninety something percent no dust. I was happy to hear that. Being someone who hates dust, I went ahead and put plastic drop cloth to drape all the area with the vents just to be sure. Moreover, I don't like outside shoes on my carpet. When they arrived, Raul was very polite and friendly. I find him a bit hard to understand. I think he brought a trainee. I was expecting big equipment. Nope. They brought in a shop vac. A brush with a cord, a power drill, another machine and a tool box. To make the long story short, the process involved turning on the fan of the heater allowing the air flow first. I think he said they use the fan to push the dirt out. Then they removed the vent grid. They placed the shop vac at the opening and turned it on. Then they guided the brush into the duct. The other end of the cord was connected to the electric drill. The electric drill move the rotobrush inside the duct and the vacuum caught the dust as it was brushing. I have to say... dusty ... DEFINITELY YES. I understand and accept it. I just wish it was explained to me that way. In my mind, I was hoping they have some equipment that can seal or cover the vent opening so dust does not get everywhere. I had to do thorough clean up (dusting) afterwards. Then they did the same for all the vents. The last thing was vacuum the furnace and apply sanitizing agent at the air duct inflow. The entire visit took a little less than 2 hours. They took Venmo or 5% charge if pay using credit card. Since this is my first experience with air duct cleaning, I have no way to compare. I can only tell readers what happened. First time trying air duct cleaning. I'm so happy with the results, all our air ducts in our house are so clean now! I was reading so many reviews on yelp because i don't know anyone who had air duct cleaning service before. Owner from Cal Duct Cleaning is the first person replied to my quote on yelp, the price is reasonable and transparent. The whole cleaning process took around 2 hours which is what the owner told me. Technicians came in with masks and professional. i was worried our house will be messy after cleaning since so many dusts will come out but they vacuum all the nearby area after they are done! I'm very satisfied with the service, will definitely recommend to my friends!

I had a great experience with this company! I've never had/used a chimney before so after the guy cleaned it he spent the extra time to explain to me how to use it and shared with me the safety precautions to be aware of. Super friendly and helpful :)
