I had the opposite experience of the last review. Discount plumbing was incredibly honest and saved me from doing a $7000 trenchless pipe replacement that I didn't need and charged me 0 dollars to tell me this!! They came out and snaked the line with a camera. Discount plumbing told me that my pipe was not broken, but the city pipe was broken. Dave's plumbing was going to charge me $7000 to replace my pipe to city line!! I was supsicous of Dave's quote because of how far out they said the problem was, and they refused to show me the video tape. So I called discount plumbing for a second opinion. A neighbor had used discount plumbing to do a similar trenchless piping job and she was very happy with them. Also discount plumbing was considerably cheaper on this very large job. Discount plumbing said their cost would be about $4000 vs $7000 (which is what my neighbor paid), but when they got to my house and snaked my line, they were very honest and said my pipe was fine. Charge for about 45 minutes of labor was nothing. I continued to use the on and off because my sinks toilets continued to back up occasionally cause city was slow to fix their pipe. I used them about 5 times, and was happy every time. That kind of honesty is a rare quality.

After I read the reviews from here and I called to this company. OMG! The field supervisor did the wrong diagnosis, quote very expensive, and not a 100% professional! Why? He left the snake cable hanging on the roof vent pipe of my house. The dirty water were still in the sink of the garage. Worst thing, he asked me to pay $300 for the snake service! Yes, he did not clean out the water, left the snake cable on the top of the house hanging in front of my house, broke the vent pipe on the roof top and he still asking for service fee. Since I do not want to deal with him anymore, I just wrote a check to him. Yes, he gave me another business card with different license number. As soon as he left from my house, I called to the company again talked with Archie Naumovski, manager of the company. OMG! He is worst than his staff even though he has a title of manager. He did not solve the problem and rude to me badly. Here are some quote from him,
"It is your house, your pipe, and your problem. I still need to take $300 for service fee even thought the dirty water did not clean out and the snake cable stuck on your house".
"You are the one who chose the cheapest way. So, you finish it"
"Hire other plumber and take out the snake cable and clean out your dirty water."
After receiving those words from him. I simply told that I could not talk to him anymore.
The next day, Sunday morning, I called to the San Mateo City Sewage for back up and justice. When the city employee came over they told me right away that this company did the things that they should not do it. The city employee showed me all the right of ways. As soon as I heard it, I called to Archie Naumovski, just asked him to come over and remove his snake cable from my roof (it makes my pipe worst since it took the space in the pipe, so I can not even use anything at my house). He refuse to admit his mistake and rude to me again.
He even asked me to move out of this house if I couldn't afford to pay the expense of the house and rent a condo. He also told me that he will send a bill of $400 to my house for his snake cable hanging over my house roof. The city employers are my witness.
I am hiring another company to clean this Discount Plumbing and Rooter Company mess to my house when they took my $300 service fee.
Please help me out! Now, my neighbor, cousins, and friends all suggest me to law sue to this company for my house damage, the snake cable left at my house hanging in front of my house.
Please Please Please do not call or contact to this company. Archie Naumovski is worst manager/ person that I have ever met in my life for the public service business.

Can't comment about the work since we didn't use them but don't be fooled by the word "discount" in the name. They quoted us $275 for snaking our main sewer line. Same price as Roto Rooter. We found someone else who did it for $175.

i should have written this review last year. i saw one of the fellas at a deli the other day with his truck and i saw another truck the other day.

these guys are amazing. they are so wonderful to work with. they get the plumbing job done right the first time at not just a great price, but a great value.

ok, so we knew we had a dip somewhere in our pipe and it was causing a lot of problems. it was late at night and the plumbing from ALL units backed up into my bathtub - talk about GROSS. so i called out of desperation and had one guy come out. he quoted me almost $4200 to replace the piping and the driveway that he would have to tear up. my landlord said to go ahead and do it. i had a bad feeling about them.

so i called Discount Plumbing & Rooter Comany and they would NOT give me a quote over the phone. i was frustrated but understood why once they came out. they came out first thing in the morning and boy am i glad they did. first of all, they had a thingy that told them exactly where my pipe was. this helps in giving an ACCURATE estimate and guess what. the pipe was not in my driveway. it was thru the front yard. i wonder what would have happened if i hired the other guy and he dug up my driveway only to find no pipe. not only would this have been a HUGE inconvenience due to the back three units, parking and a mess of a driveway but i'm pretty sure he would have tried to blame it on me and make me pay more money. also, this guy at the other place was really rude. it was late at night and he his stupid walkie talkie thing at full volume and was not pleasant or professional at all.

Discount Plumbing & Rooter quoted me just over $2000 to do everything. i was VERY pleased with their thoroughness, professionalism, pricing and completion of the job.

i recommend them hands down to ANYONE rich or poor, who needs any kind of plumbing. they are really great. every time i see their truck or their name, i smile. that's a big deal cuz we're talking about raw sewage here haha.

anyway, please make Disount Plumbing & Rooter Company your first and probably last call for any of your plumbing, piping, water break, etc. needs. i know they service plumbing for redwood city, san carlos, belmont, redwood shores, san mateo, foster city, burlingame, and the rest of the bay area.

oh, and they dug up my front yard VERY minimally because they do a "trenchless" style thing so i don't have to replace my entire front yard landscaping. also, they did not call me with a request for more money after the project started, they completed in within the time promised and even helped us with a few extra things.

we are grateful to have worked with such a GREAT plumbing company. they are the best plumbing and rooter company in the bay area hands down.

I had an horrible experience with this company.
Three months ago, I had a major house clog that backed up all my toilets. I called these guys up and they did show up within an hour or so.
When the guy saw that the clog was outside the house, he sent a plumbing electrical snake with a big jaw with the same size as the pipe.
He did not even try to send in a smaller jaw-like extension to unclog the block. All he was trying to sell was that I needed a camera inspection.

As he was explaining that I needed an extra $250 worth of camera inspection, the water went through the clog and washed the block away.
Now, that his explanation could not sell me the camera inspection, he started explaining that I needed some extra $2500 worth of work (opening the concrete, installing new pipes, ....).

I called in another plumber (my neighbor), who told me that the clog was minor, I just needed to keep routinely adding some enzyme based drain cleaner. My neighbor did send in a camera and everything was as he told me.

I found Discount Plumbing very unethical and untrustworthy.
Will never, ever recommend them.

Heavy rain last night. Water entering garage from a stopped up drain. Heavy rain falling this afternoon at 3:00 P. M. I called, and 30 minutes later Archie, the owner, was at my house. He gave a very reasonable estimate, ran a motorized snake through the drain and cut out the roots. He then went into the second drain and did the same thing, removing huge balls of roots. And all of this was accomplished in a heavy rain. His final price was more than reasonable. He was very professional and kind, even looking out so as not to harm my geese who were at his side watching him work. Highest recommendations!!!
