I recently had Equinox replace the roof on a commercial building that I own. The entire experience was nothing less than pleasurable and that is saying a lot about replacing a roof. My project manager Doron, was outstanding. He kept me informed throughout the duration of the work and made certain that all of the details were addressed. I own several properties and I will use Equinox for all of my roofing needs.

So this was my first major home project and I probably went a little too crazy getting estimates from like 6+ roofing companies. Really had no idea how any of this works. I had been told by others that there could be a wide range of the quotes, but that wasnât my experience at all. At least whatever the market was at this point in time (Spring 2024), everyoneâs bid was essentially comparable. You end up having to make a decision based on all the other factors. This pretty much immediately led me to go with Equinox and Iâm very glad I did.
And from my perspective at least, that was pretty much down to who I worked with â Doron (the project manager?). From the first time he showed up to take a look at my old roof, he seemed to stand out from most of the other guys who come out and gave me a good feeling. He always showed up when he said he would and on time. He had no high pressure sales vibe (though clearly was interested in my business). Everything from cost breakdown, options, and scheduling felt very natural and comfortable. Once they started the project his communication was clear and patient. Even now a month after itâs done you can really tell that he feels ownership of the job and cares about things being done right and people being satisfied. Like I said, at least from my limited experience âshopping aroundâ, thatâs really what differentiates these companiesâ the reliability, the reputation, and the communication.
The roof looks great but honestly they all do LOL. Itâs not that exciting of a project (unlike a fancy new kitchen or something) but it feels good to have peace of mind. Iâm just glad that it went smoothly. Wouldnât hesitate to recommend Doron and Equinox Roofing to friends and neighbors.

Starting any home improvement project can be very daunting, especially if itâs your first time. I had never undertaken any project this big before, so I was really nervous and not sure how to start. But Iâm so glad that I chose the folks at Equinox to help me with my re-roofing project. Even from the very beginning, when I was going out for bids, I already had a good feeling about them. Doron, our project manager, was super informative and thorough about the services they would provide and materials theyâd let me choose from, and of all the companies I sought quotes from, he was also the most up front about how the process would work, which really helped me feel at ease. They were also the quickest in providing me a response and quote. In terms of price, their estimate was also the most reasonable. All in all, I was pretty confident Equinox was the right decision for me.
Once the work started, they were very flexible and communicative, which helped because I wasnât at home when most of the project was taking place. Additionally, my roof is super steep and tricky, but the team handled the project expertly. The workers were prompt, quick, and efficient. I am very satisfied with the final result. Everything looks great, and Iâm comforted by the warranty provided. The most important thing for me, though, was the friendly and caring service. I really felt comfortable during the whole process, which means so much because of how overwhelming the project felt at the start. I know Iâll be recommending Equinox Roofing to any family and friends I know who might be looking to get work done on their roofs.

Finally found the great roofing company to replace my roof in Pleasanton. Ben who helped with initial quotes and overseeing the project is very quick to respond and answer all my questions. After initial assessment and couple of weeks for city approval, they replaced my roof very quickly and no complaints so far. I would recommend Equinox roofing for your project.

tl;dr
We were blessed to work with Eli - he is a fantastic and responsive project manager, sensitive to all concerns and requests, no matter how nuanced.
Additionally, his team are extremely high quality, efficient, and clearly know what they're doing.
I had a lot of anxiety around such a big investment, but now rest with more confidence that the investment was very much worth it, especially with a team like Equinox.

After purchasing our first home, we were in the market to get our roof replaced as suggested by our realtor and inspector pre-purchase.
We knew that it'd be a daunting project, and finding the right roofer felt like a very challenging task. We received a handful of quotes from roofing companies and contractors via Yelp and decided to entertain Equinox's inspection.
That's when we met Eli.
Eli was punctual, and even though his drone was down that day, he decided to get on the roof himself and inspect it up close.
Eli then proceeded to present every step of the roof removal and installation process - he even brought samples of each of the materials that'll be used as well as example shingles to get a sense of color.
I'm a very detail-oriented person and was pleased with Eli's level of depth in his explanation. He answered all of my questions (and I had many) and helped me build a sense of trust and confidence in their work.
He then explained his findings that would make our project a bit more risky and challenging than others. We had:
- 8 skylights
- Exterior windows that wrap onto the roofline
- Wood shake shingles underneath our asphalt shingles (both of which needed to be removed to be up to code)
- Areas that needed flashing replaced or newly added to completely prevent any water intrusion
Despite these nuances and their extreme detail, their bid still remained extremely competitive to other offers we've seen. On top of that, their accreditations helped give me peace of mind knowing that even when the job is done, we're protected by their great workmanship warranty and manufacturer warranty as they are platinum preferred contractors with Owens Corning.
So we said yes.
Fast forward to project start...
The entirety of the work took only 3 days. Here's how it went down:
Day 1: full demo of both layers of old roofing material, begin installation of needed plywood
Day 2: Finish installation of plywood, delivery of roofing materials, and begin installation of new flashing around skylights
Day 3: Finish replacing and adding new flashing around skylights and walls, finish installation of the the whole roof and painting flashing to match (including a last minute color change by my request)
Through all of this, Eli stopped by each day at least once, help address any issues during the process, and took drone photos and video from start to finish. The team cleaned well after themselves too, despite how messy the project was. They even added some extras that sweetened the deal such as adding crickets to the flashing of each of the 8 skylights (see attached photo for what a cricket is), adding additional custom flashing on adjoining walls to the new roofing material, and adding a custom curb and cricket to our peculiar roofline windows.
Unfortunately, there were some minor details that needed to be addressed after the roof was completed. A couple panes of our peculiar roofline-wrapping windows were cracked in the process, and two skylights needed to be adjusted (one was making a vibrating sound, while another wasn't fully seated) - it's worth calling out that none of these issues caused any water damage as it rained the day after the job was done.
Eli was super responsive to my concerns, and assured me that I would be taken care of - and absolutely stood by his word. Over the course of the next couple weeks he kept me updated daily and he had various members of his team fix all the details left.
Now that the project has fully completed, I can rest assured knowing that if anything were to ever come back up, Eli and his team will be here to stand by their work and keep things in tip-top shape.

I've worked a lot of different contractors, and the one thing that separates the good from great is communication. Equinox was that company. From the initial estimate, adjustments, to the final inspection Eli was there the whole way. When doing such a large project as a completely new roof the last thing you want is an unexpected, unexplained costs. What made Equinox stand above the others is they would show me the additional work needed before making any decisions on what to do. They were clear before starting any additional work exactly how much it would cost and how long it would take. More importantly, the initial estimate contained all the information I needed to know how much additional would cost if it were required.
On top of ALL of this, they STILL gave a competitive offer compared to all the other companies I spoke to and did their absolute best to fix my leaking roof between the constant rainfall we had. I cannot express how happy I was working with Equinox and Eli. It made the overwhelming task of doing an entire new roof manageable.
