Had a bad experience with Garage Up. Admittedly, I had a challenging space to work with as it was originally intended for a coiling door and was on a tight schedule. But, I pointed out three things I wanted to make sure the install solved when they took a look. I needed color-matched metal trim to close off where drywall stopped and stucco began. I wanted the slope of the door's track to match the roof pitch, and that was important so as little of the door and track stuck out into a mechanical access space...I was assured that all three things would be "no problem".Actual outcome:- Slope is about 1/2 between the roof pitch and flat.- Track sticks out 6" into the mechanical access as a result.- They completely skipped doing anything about the seam between the drywall and stucco. They were also two weeks late delivering the project (partially because there was a delay in receiving the product, and partially because their installer had an injury on another job). I was accepting about the delays because stuff happens and it wasn't anything they could really control. However, when I contacted them after receiving the invoice about the remaining work (the missing trim) their answer was as follows:- They don't do that kind of thing.- It wasn't explicitly called out in the quote, so I need to pay the invoice in full. So, why did they say it would be "no problem" when they were selling their services? Now, the door is installed, and I can't even get to that seam to do anything about it without REMOVING the door myself and reinstalling it. I'm going to have to re-do 100% of the labor I paid them for because of this. Worse, if I do that (which I have to) their warranty on labor will be void removing them from any responsibility. Lucky them.Positive things I can say: The quality of the work done by the installer was good, and the actual installers were nice and good to deal with. Sales person was always polite, and did apologize for the "misunderstanding".However, there have been no corrective actions taken, no offers to reinstall the door after I find and fix the trim situation myself. Nothing. It's my problem.Ultimately, what makes a good business is how they handle things when something goes wrong. Maybe the sales guy over-promised to get the job? Maybe he misunderstood what needed to be done. But, if so, a good business would work to find a solution. I even offered to pay additional for them to order the color-matched metal trim from the garage door vendor and to come out and install it. Again, "we don't do that".What this tells me is that if anything goes wrong, Garage Up won't be there to stand behind their workmanship or their install. I had planned (but hadn't told them yet) to have them come do a number of additional things to finish out the garage that would probably have been a lot more $$$ than the door install. I definitely will NOT be having them do that work now.Learn from my mistake. Don't trust this company. They won't be there to follow through if stuff goes off the rails at all.
