I had the Green Collar team replace all of my ducts, diffusers, plenums, insulate my attic and seal all doors and sweeps. This team is professional & efficient, they were in and out in two days. They worked super clean and were conscious of the environment around them. I was informed of all steps ahead of time and they were super organized. This is a small business with a family like structure, most of the team has been there many years and that's what you wanna see. The job was completed in late September and I noticed immediate results, in the hottest of days my AC would cool faster and cycle less. During that last two freezing weather events the heater cycles less and maintains its temp. Green Collar filed all the rebate paper work for us and got us our rebates from the city quite quickly.

After all these years I'm still cleaning up from using Green Collar. Yesterday I removed all the old calk from the last window they worked on.

I hired Green Collar via a sub contractor AirCo (who installed a new AC system) BTW, this reputable AC company no longer works with Green Collar.
1. Long story short, one of the guys dropped a bucket of sealing mastic on our carpet. They sent a guy out to clean it, it didn't work. They mailed out a $150 check but now the carpet I have in about 1,000SF needs to be replaced.
2. The doors were not sealed properly, I can still feel the air flowing - even after inviting them back to fix the problem.
3. The cheap clear caulk they used around the inside windows has fully dried and looks horrible. It was applied too wide and thin, and now becomes a permanent dust collector.
4. When the performance "test" was completed, it wasn't clear to me that anything was really being tested. I might be wrong here but I would think a before and after test would have meaning.
All in all a horrible experience, I really liked the owner but bottom line, they hire kids who don't care about your house, thus a bad company to work with. They have a great website, Green Collar is a very marketing savvy group but don't get fooled into allowing them into your house. Additionally, I wouldn't put it past them to "stack" their own reviews..

I had a great experience with Green Collar Operations. I was interested in adding more insulation after the cold that we experienced in February 2021, and they did that and more. Bill Cook recommended redesigning our duct work to take care of uneven temperatures in our house. In the winter our living area with cathedral ceilings would be too cool, while the bedrooms would be too warm. In the summer the living area was too warm, and the bedrooms were really chilly. The new ductwork took care of that problem, and with the cold from the current ice storm we're enjoying very comfortable temperatures throughout the house. In addition to the ductwork, additional insulation was installed, baffles added over the soffit vents, and they made sure that the doors, windows, ac air intake vents, and plumbing areas were sealed. Everyone I dealt with from this company was great, and Rob Scott, one of the owners, was here to meet with the city inspector and afterwards to inspect and make sure that the job was done right. I highly recommend Green Collar for the quality of their work and their attention to detail.

I had a very positive experience using Green Collar Operations. Every interaction with the employees and the owners was professional and they clearly cared about the customer. They were prompt in their responses, quotes, and patiently answered all my questions. Rob Scott was especially helpful when he inspected the attic and had several suggestions to help improve the air quality in my house (sealing plumbing and returns) and to add attic insulation to increase the energy efficiency of my home!

My husband and I needed new insulation in the attic of our late Sixties home and didn't have a large budget to dedicate to the project. We had already replaced the siding, insulation (under siding), windows and exterior doors. Still, we were frustrated with the fast accumulation of dust after cleaning and how high our electric bills were during the summer. We installed cellular blinds and blackout curtains, and kept the house at 80 degrees most days, but still didn't see much difference in our bill.
After calling five companies for bids, we were most impressed with Green Collar. When I called, owner Alison Scott responded quickly and scheduled us for an estimate the following week.
Bill Cook came out to inspect our attic and was incredibly through. His plan for improving our home's energy efficiency included increasing the insulation thickness, sealing and testing the ducts and HVAC system, weather stripping our furnace closet door and exterior doors, and caulking the plumbing penetrations.
He also recommended properly ducting our guest bath fan and have baffles installed above the soffits. We were surprised at how much work Green Collar offered for the price. The majority of the companies we called charged 80-100% of Green Collar's quote, just for the insulation. Bill was honest about prices and expectations for our home, and we didn't feel pushed to schedule the work. It was an easy decision to choose Green Collar.
Having done quite a bit of remodeling on our home, we've worked with lots of contractors. Even though we chose Green Collar, we still didn't have high expectations for the timeliness, cleanliness or precision of the work. I'm so happy we were pleasantly surprised! The day of, Ingrid and Jacob showed up on time, respectfully wore masks and explained what they would be doing. They checked the air vents in each room, and replaced a boot in the attic above the primary bath. After the guest bath fan was ducted and the baffles were installed, they sealed the ducts and plumbing penetrations. Weather stripping was replaced for each exterior door, and in the furnace closet. Fiberglass insulation was blown into the attic, with a rating upon completion of R49 (18 inches). Finally, they tested the ducts and HVAC system. We were happy to see a dramatic improvement in the ducts' air leakage levels.
One of the owners, Rob Scott, came out to inspect the work a few days later. He competed an ECAD for us at a great price and answered our additional questions. To say we're ecstatic is an understatement! Green Collar went above and beyond, and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for professional and ethical energy efficiency specialists.

Like a lot of people, the February 2021 storm convinced us that we needed better insulation. We had a few people come out to give us quotes but Bill impressed us with his knowledge, willingness to walk through problems, and general attitude. It was not the lowest quote, but sometimes you know you're getting what you pay for. Bill did not carry out the work, but was responsive when a small issue came up and made sure it was addressed.
