Taking a moment to thank Home Upgrade and their tech Elia for their excellent service over the years. We first connected through the city of LA AC Optimization program where they came out to our home to check our HVAC system and install a free Nest smart thermostat. Our AC has been perfect since!

Our building had the roof replaced so we called them out to check our coolant levels and Sue enough the roof contractors didn’t top off the coolant so Elia covered that too for us and I’ve recommended Home Upgrade Specialists to my neighbors for their needs too. All great reports across the board.

Office has always been easy to schedule with and they arrive promptly as scheduled. Great follow up on service and I just got a call from their QA person to check in on the level of service. Nice to find a business that improves with time and is solid across the board! Highly recommend!!

Wow! I'm so shocked and impressed! I signed up for an efficiency tune up via LADWP. I was sure there would be lots of upselling but was just happy to have someone come out to look at my units who had good reviews because it had been on my "to-do" list for a while. There was no upselling at all, the entire service was actually paid by LADWP! Elia came out and was very knowledgeable and professional. He spent a long time carefully evaluating and tuning up my two HVAC units both in the attics and the condensers outside. I actually did receive two nest thermostats free of charge and installed/set up. Went out of town for a few days and the app automatically shut my units to eco mode while I was away. I have greatly increased piece of mind knowing my HVAC systems are in good working order and running as efficiently as possible. Thank you thank you thank you!!

On day three of the heat-wave, our AC unit made a loud noise and then stopped working. I got on Yelp to find a local AC repair company and was able to get an appointment the NEXT MORNING at my home near Crescent Heights and Melrose 90048! Home Upgrade Specialist sent me a detailed text message right away confirming the appointment. It also included a picture of our technician - total rockstar Ray! Ray was on time, super friendly and respectful, efficient, had all of his tools, and communicated the issues very clearly. He filled up the coolant in the AC for the back-house and told us there was a small leak, which is why the system never seemed to work properly. We have had three other companies come out and all of them did not notice this problem. For our main house, Ray got up on the roof and determined the AC fan was broken and not pushing cold air down through the house. If the part was available, he told us he could come back later that evening. The part came through the next morning and Ray was back first thing to replace the broken fan. Upon further inspection, Ray identified that a previous technician (from a different company a few months ago) messed up the wiring which kept the unit ON CONSTANTLY - crazy. So my AC was running 24/7 even when we thought it was off. Because of this we also needed a new capacitor because the old one was toast. The NEST thermostat also was affected but Ray was able to install a NEW ONE for free because there is a program through LADWP.

Ray spent 2.5 hours installing all of the parts. He is a great guy and Army veteran (In Iraq, he was in 120+ heat wearing all of his army gear!). Ray could not have been nicer. If you have any heating or cooling issues THIS IS THE COMPANY and RAY is your dude!

This is my first Yelp review because I had to jump on and say something. I would give zero stars if I had an option. The sales guy was nice, knowledgeable and responsive until we signed the contract and made the deposit payment. Then we started waiting for the permit. There was no single follow up from the company but I had to keep texting, calling the sales guy and the office to find out what's going on. The units were finally installed after two months and they were crickets regarding the remaining process re: HERS test and final inspection until they found out that we have a remaining balance of $1,000. The lady on the phone insisted that we make the payment and then they'll send the rest of information. I did and then she sent the wrong link for scheduling the inspection. I asked for the correct link and she said that she won't until I pay the remaining balance of $300 for the HERS test.

So, I have paid more than $10k to get the ac installed but they're holding off on sending correct information for $300 remaining balance? For all intents and purposes I wanted this to be smooth and less of a pain on my end and now this Amber lady is making it all impossible.

We purchased a new house in West Hollywood and we needed to do a complete remodeling. Kitchen, bathroom,flooring and New heating and air conditioning system. We interview 6 companies and we choose Home Upgrade Specialist. Nitai was a great professional man to work with. They helped us getting rebate ($6,600!!!) from the utilities company.
The kitchen and bathrooms looks beautiful! The whole process was smooth and super professional. Even though the price was not the cheapest we don't regret making this choice.
We received 3D design prior to starting work and its matches exactly like the design!
We convert our HVAC system to heat pump and upgrade our electrical panel (check Tech Clean CA rebate program we got through them the $6,600 rebate)
