This is an amazing company, very reliable and honest, I needed work done on my HAVC system, had several company come out but I felt that they didn’t take the time to really inspect my unit I felt that the other companies where just trying to sell me a new unit.
Technician from Home Up Grade took the time to really inspected my unit, and told me exactly what I needed he did the work the same day, and very fair Pricing I highly recommend Home Up Grade Specialist for any HVAC needs.

at atThe review I was very close to writing would have gone a different way entirely if not for the owner and project manager's swift action to remedy some bad communication. Communication is the only area needs to be improved.
Oswaldo was our installer and he did a technically sound job and had a great eye for unit placement. I think our mini split install looks better than most regarding unit placement and that is 100 percent because of Oswaldo's placement height. That's a perfect 10.
John's attitude toward the job is "No problem. Anything it takes!". His attitude toward customer feedback is "Thank you. I see your point." He also seemed just as excited as we were about the fancy mini splits and the way they looked. They work beautifully. They are so quiet and elegant!
The technician/IT guy was knowledgeable regarding the integration of the Daikin app with Spectrum wireless and was able to save me money when he let me know the wifi module wouldn't work with my router.
Simon the owner was polite and fair. Everything promised was delivered and the buck did stop somewhere.
The price was not the lowest and not the mind-boggling highest. It was a fair price.
The warranty was standard.
The communication had many gaps and precise codes could have been "double-checked" BEFORE the job began so that we'd be prepared for where switches and condensers had to be placed. Deviations between what was agreed upon at the time of the quote and what they thought acceptable day of should have been communicated or reconsidered to avoid confusion and lack of confidence. That's just basic business practice and common courtesy. However, I can't fault a business so quick to acknowledge what a customer is experiencing.
Overall result: THRILLED!
Type: Mini Splits
Brand: Daikin
Model: Emura
My rating: Given of my own free will. Five stars due to mostly John's attitude and ability to take the feedback given and directly use it to make the company better. I'm really glad that they will be the service we use. Not only are they just down the street but they don't do petty charges or scalping of any kind.
I truly hope my review gives someone the heads up to get what they want and make and informed decision. There are a lot of expensive Hvac companies out there. This one might be the right one for you. They really try to stick to their quotes and the owner seems committed to making the company great so I don't mind recommending them.

If only yelp allowed split ratings.... This company started out as a FIVE and then declined rapidly. In late January, the HVAC stopped working. The people on the phone were great and the company sent a tech out the next day. Sam was prompt, polite, followed all COVID protocols, diagnosed the issue and then fixed it. Two days later, the same problem. Sam replaced the limit switch he'd previously replaced. Two weeks later, the heating stopped again...
This is where the rating PLUMMETS. ONE STAR.
When I called the number I'd used previously, whoever spoke to me demanded I supply my bank card number to hold my appointment. That had NOT been my previous experience. He hung up on me when I refused. I called back, 'Sam' answered, and then hung up on me when I asked if he'd the previous tech. Repeated calls were not answered nor was an email I sent to the company. Maybe something bad happened to the company?
Since then, another heating company has been on the job and said Sam did not properly seal the unit nor did he replace it with anything suitable for the problem.
Overall, very disappointed. Yelpers, be cautious.
UPDATE: Following this one star review, a manager, Simon, reached out. He was incredibly apologetic about my experience and wanted to amend the situation. He also asked for me to reconsider my review. Impressed by his directness, the decision was made to allow Simon to bid on a new HVAC system. Upon arrival, Simon was timely, thorough and said an estimate would be emailed later that day.
It wasn't. Nor was it sent after a follow up call and being told it would be sent "immediately." Only when told that they would not be employed to replace the HVAC were calls made and an estimate emailed.
Simon's primary concern seemed to be the nature of this review and not doing what was needed to address the underlying problems. Words without action seem hollow.
Given Simon's directness, his desire to rectify things and his timeliness, the review has been moved from one star to two. Many other yelp reviewers seem to have had excellent experiences and perhaps this was anomalous, perhaps it wasn't.

We needed installation of air conditioning to a rental unit. It presented a challenge as their was no crawl space and limited attic space. John Schultz provided a comprehensive and knowledgeable evaluation of our options and we elected to install splits. I obtained 2 other bids and based on pricing and Yelp reviews elected to hire Home Upgrade Specialists. Obtaining permits from the City did delay the project however the company took full responsibility and was able to complete the project. Installation took 3 days. Installers were neat, professional and completed the job without incident. I would give the entire company top rating for customer service, quality of work and price.
