Transforming Drainage with Expertise
Transforming Drainage with Expertise
At Justinās Tree Service, we take pride in not only maintaining trees but also ensuring the overall health and safety of our clients' landscapes. Recently, our team was called upon to resolve a significant drainage issue that had turned a beautiful backyard into a small lake.
The Challenge
The homeowner, Dardar TheSubmarian, reached out after noticing that all the trees and plants he planted the previous spring had died. A neighbor had removed a forest from his property, and in doing so, he raised the land height significantly without providing appropriate drainage. This resulted in water pooling in Dardarās yard after rainstorms, creating soggy conditions that could last for weeks and ultimately devastated the new plants.
Dardar approached us, seeking a solution to this drainage dilemma. He asked if we could help by installing a French drain to redirect the water away from his property.
Our Solution
Understanding the urgency, Juan and our team sprang into action. We began by assessing the yard to identify the lowest point for proper drainage. Armed with this knowledge, we rented an excavator and got to work.
Hereās a step-by-step breakdown of our process:
1. Excavation: We carefully excavated the yard, ensuring that the tubing for the French drain would not have any uphill sections before reaching the output drain.
2. Framework Installation: To effectively collect and manage the water, we buried three large blue barrels at strategic distances. This allowed for optimal water collection while avoiding blockage.
3. Flexible Tubing and Gravel: Surrounding the barrels with small gravel allowed for efficient drainage, and we attached flexible tubing to direct the water away from the yard.
4. Final Touches: The last part of our installation included extending the tubing to the main drainage ditch, ensuring the water was effectively routed away from the property.
Our dedicated team worked diligently over a Friday and Saturday, and we were pleased to deliver a solution that would last.
The Results
We were thrilled to hear from Dardar after the installation. Following a heavy rain, he reported that instead of flooding, his yard was completely dry and even the ground was not soggy. This marked a significant improvement for his property and lifted the burden of worry associated with yard drainage.
> āJuan and his guys worked very hard and got it done in a couple of days. After this latest heavy rain, we went out to inspect the results. Before, where it would have somewhat flooded, it was completely dry, and the ground was not even soggy.ā - Dardar TheSubmarian

Transforming Overgrown Flower Beds
Transforming Overgrown Flower Beds
At Justinās Tree Service, we take great pride in helping our clients restore and enhance the beauty of their outdoor spaces. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with Terry Allen, a loyal customer who has relied on our tree care services for the past four years. Terry reached out to us for assistance with his flower beds, which had become overwhelmed by weeds and grass, preventing his plants from thriving.
The Challenge
When we arrived to inspect the property, we encountered flower beds that were not only overcrowded with invasive weeds and grass but also deprived of the nutrients necessary for the healthy growth of Terryās cherished plants. With the homeowner's aging condition making yard work increasingly difficult, the request for our assistance was timely. Our team knew we had to devise a plan that would rejuvenate the flower beds while ensuring the health of the existing plants.
Our Approach
As soon as we assessed the situation, I provided Terry with a clear estimate and a timeline for when we could execute the work. Within hours, our team, led by Juan and his skilled helper Roddy, was ready to get to work.
1. Weed and Grass Removal: First, we meticulously removed all of the overgrown grass and invasive weeds from the flower beds. This was no small task, given the size of the area; however, our teamās experience made it manageable.
2. Protecting Existing Plants: We ensured that all surrounding āgood plantsā remained undisturbed and healthy during the process.
3. Weed Barrier Installation: After clearing the area, we laid thick plastic sheeting to prevent any regrowth of weeds, creating a strong barrier that would protect the flower beds moving forward.
4. Beautification with Mulch: We covered the plastic sheeting with beautiful ruby red mulch, adding both visual appeal and valuable moisture retention for the underlying soil.
5. Trimming and Shaping: Our skilled crew then trimmed back overgrown plants, shaping them to achieve a pleasing aesthetic. Additionally, we trimmed the palms and hedges, ensuring they complemented the overall design of the landscape.
6. Tree Care: Finally, we removed a Crepe Myrtle by the roots and trimmed Terry's large front trees into a beautiful rounded shape, enhancing the look of the entire property.
The Results
The transformation was stunning! As Terry noted in his review, once the job was completed, he was left "in awe every time of how beautiful it is." Hereās what he had to say about our work:
> "Through all of these years, Juan has done everything he said he would do, plus much more. He has always charged a very reasonable rate. We are getting older now, and canāt do much yard work. It is so wonderful to have him to call, and not have to worry about a thing."
