Routine yearly HVAC Maintenance
Finally an HONEST HVAC repair man! Jason spent hours thoroughly investigating my system. I expected to be hustled like so many million HVAC companies in the past but shocked when he said everything was fine! This is the first time I wasn't asked to buy a special deal on whatever! Thank you Jason for your handwork, thoroughness and honesty. Reasonable price as well.

Too expensive for the service provided. Do not recommend, there are better out there for a more reasonable price. They advertised a HVAC cleaning to help get rid of the soot from the fires. Was charged $119 to essentially just hose off my HVAC. They'll then turn around and get reimbursed by the gas company, so they're being paid twice for the limited work. It was not a true cleaning, and I do not feel that it was worth the price tag and I disapprove the company being paid twice.

Also, if you get the guy who refuses to take out his airpods, he will not take the time to explain what he does. In fact, he'll be rude about it, making it seem ludicrous for you, the homeowner, to ask what he is doing so that you, the homeowner, will become educated to help take care of your system yourself.

Yuri came to inspect our air conditioner, and he was exceptionally thorough and professional. He didn’t miss a single detail and made sure to check everything carefully. It’s clear that he genuinely cares and was very honest and fair. Highly recommended!

I turned to Lion when the company I had been using for decades failed me!

I am so happy I found Lion (and Leo the owner and Andrei the tech)

price, service, knowledge, clear explanations, friendly, quick response, the owner taking an interest...what more could I ask?

I needed a new HVAC company to check out one of my AC compressors because I noticed the cold temperature was not running as cold as it should, and I was not getting good service from my long time HVAC company (in short I realized the other HVAC company, which I had used for almost 30 years, was not doing what they were supposed to do on maintenance (not even turning on the units to check them...among other faults) and the other company seemed to overstate the issues that they found when I complained about the lack of service...and tried to sell me on replacing my units...which are just out of warranty).

But Lion, from the moment I called, seemed to be on top of things and made me feel like I would get what I was paying for in terms of service and would not try to scare me into paying for something I didn't need.

I spoke to Leo, one of the owners of Lion, about my problems with my old HVAC provider not checking this or that as part of the semi annual maintenance and that my unit did not seem to be running as cold as before ...but I did not tell him the diagnosis or recommended solution from my regular provider).

Leo was very nice, and knowledgeable (most owners don't seem to know the tech side of things...just sales). He talked about what my issue could be caused by but stressed they would check out the entire system, but he added that was the only way to truly tell what the problem is. When I asked about prices he was up front about how they charge and apply the service call fee, and what it would cost if it turned out to be this or that which needed repair.
Although it was not an emergency, Lion sent out an amazing tech guy the next day.

The tech they sent, Andrei, was amazing, smart, knowledgeable and friendly. ...and the work was done for what I felt was a fair price.

Not only did he thoroughly check the system, beyond what that other company did, he showed me the readings on the capacitors, refrigerant, temperature etc, and explained what was off and what needed to be done. He determined there was a "micro" leak of refrigerant and the fan capacitor on the compressor was out of specs). I keep spare capacitors around so he replaced it

He said that the combination of the slightly lower refrigerant level from a micro leak and the fan capacitor not being to spec likely combined to make the AC temp not as cold as it should be. (i was surprised that the fan capacitor could have that affect but he explained to me why...great guy Andrei)

I asked Andrei about the micro leak, if i needed a new unit or could they find the leak and fix it , or what did he recommend

Andrei said that the leak was so small that not only did he NOT recommend replacement (contrary to the other company), and he explained to me why.

He also did not feel it would be cost effective to me to spend the money to find the leak and repair it vs the cost to add some refrigerant and see how it went ( I could add refrigerant multiple times for the cost to find and fix a small leak).

As I watched, he slowly added more refrigerant, a little at a time, as he checked the pressure, making sure it did not go too high, and showed me the prior readings and current readings so I could see for myself what he had done.

He then checked the air temperature at the vents to make sure it was now correct, compared to his original readings he had showed me before (I went from an 8-10 degree differential to a more normal 12-15 differential). i literally could feel the difference.

its been a few weeks now and everything seems to be working great and the way it should, and at a relatively modest cost I might add.

Needless to say I changing my maintenance contract and repairs to Lion.
