Once again we found everything for the garden that we wanted, and more than we knew existed.

I had a lot of problems getting my landscaping done with Merrifield. I thought, after all that pain, after hours wasted tracking them down and following up, it was over and done and I'd never have to deal with them again. But my three trees never grew. Because they planted the wrong thing. And they, per usual, refuse to communicate about this. So I paid for three new trees, I got three shrubs. They lied multiple times saying they'd look into it and get back to me.
I'm now out hundreds of dollars paid for trees never planted and need to find someone else to take away these shrubs and plant the right thing. My HOA requires trees, not shrubs. I want trees, not shrubs. I was very specific, they even had me wait for them to find all the trees before doing the job, and yet? No trees. Only shrubs. I asked the landscaper if they were correct and would grow to 8-10 feet and he said yes. AND YET...
Call Merrifield if you're rich, bored, and want to fight tooth and nail for your contract to be fulfilled only to be scammed anyway.
Otherwise? Go anywhere else.

UPDATE BACK TO ONE STAR: So I noticed the trees Merrifield planted on the side of my house are never going to grow - because they're shrubs and not trees. It took a while to realize this because I thought MAYBE they'd row slowly. Nope. Just shrubs. But there was a pandemic and I waited until I could hit up the garden center again. Here's what happened. My dates might be off by one or two days but I have it logged in my texts so it's pretty accurate:
08/05/21 go in person and they say they'll have someone call me. Take my info: my name, phone number, address, the job/ invoice number from the landscaping work done. It'll be about 4 days. They have a young man take me to look at other trees, none compare at all even in size to the ones I purchased and did not get.
No one called me.
08/12/21 I call, explain. They send me to a voicemail. I leave a message explaining again.
No one called me.
08/16/21 call again to the person I left a message with. She answers. I'm told she'll look into it and they'll call me in 2-3 days.
No one called me.
08/19/21 call again. No answers. No help.
NO ONE EVER CALLED ME.
So ultimately if you pay for something, expressly discuss it at length because the height of your trees matter to you given window positions on the house and how you'd like the tree size to look similar to your neighbor's across the street, wait for them to get the trees, find it's an absolute scam, and then follow up?
THEY WON'T EVEN TALK TO YOU.
I turned my ringer on for this company. MY. RINGER. Do you know how insane it is to have my phone actually ring?? For over a month?? Of course it was NEVER Merrifield because they never called. So I just got useless audio interruptions during the day. And now I need to find another company and remove these shrubs and get the trees I paid for the first time around that Merrifield simply won't supply.

I frequent this Garden Center often and staff has always been super regarding outdoor needs. Was hesistant about asking for help by a young lady in the greenhouse, however, I was pleasantly surprised and taken aback by Ms. Lauren. Greatly appreciate masks worn by employees and always wonderful and welcoming customer service.

Based on so many positive reviews I had high hopes for the landscaping consultation. I didn’t even mind paying the $75 fee because I thought it would be well worth it. After I filled out the online form and paid, I received an email with the designer’s name. I frequent the store, and during one of my visits, I asked them if I could get the drawing after the consultation. I was told I could negotiate the price with the designer. There was quite a backlog, so after waiting for several weeks that day finally came. I thought it was a little odd that I didn’t get any reminders and even thought they might have forgotten the appointment. The email confirmation stated that the designer would arrive within 1 hour of the appointment, but by almost 11, I still hadn’t heard from anyone for my 10 o’clock appointment. I finally received a call around 11 letting me know that he was running late. I wished I received a call earlier since I had other plans, but I was still glad that they were coming. The person who came by was not the person mentioned in the email but I thought they should be all professionals so I wasn’t too concerned about the change. He spent 5 minutes going around our yard - didn’t take any notes or measure anything. I felt extremely rushed - no sketches, no advice, or any ideas from him. Funny we did receive a quote but I knew it was a half-fast job because his quote came about half of the other quote I received. We were hoping to address it with the landscape team at the Merrifield and perhaps someone else could come out again. During one of our visits, we left a note for someone to contact us since there was no one at the store to discuss the landscaping project. The person who took the note assured us that someone would be in touch with us. That promise was not followed through. In my case, it was a complete waste of my money and time. Needless to say, they lost a valued customer. Other than landscaping consultation, I had no issues with plants, flowers, mulch, rocks or anything garden-related stuff I bought from them although their prices were higher. I do think Merrifield has a variety of plants and employees at the store were friendly and knowledgeable, so for those who wouldn’t mind paying a higher price tag, this place may be an option. Don’t waste your $75 for landscape consultation – there are many companies willing to give free estimates who would do a much thorough job. From now on, I will take my business somewhere else.
