This was the first time we had undertaken a project of this size, and they made it as easy as it could have been. During the design process they acted on all of our feedback and iterated until we had a solution that we were happy with, and they also came up with ideas that we would not have otherwise thought of.

Construction went super smoothly, and the project was finished within a week of their original timeline. They also left the job site very clean at the end of each work day, which I really appreciated (thanks, Scott!). No delays, on budget, no complaints from our neighbors. Can't ask for much better than that.

If you're leaning towards going forward on a project with them, I would recommend asking for a second round of opinions (from the design/construction side, not just sales) on the initial cost estimate that they provide. We encountered a situation where the that first "ballpark" quote was significantly lower than the subsequent estimate for some elements of the work, leading us to reduce the project's scope to meet our budget.

Ultimately, they are really nice people to work with and they care about delivering a great product. We have no regrets in choosing them for our project, and we'd do it again.

The project included custom carpentry, and the craftsmanship is truly beautiful. The master carpenters took pride in their work and were clearly invested in the final result. At any point, if I wanted to adjust something or explore a better option, their response was always, “Yes, no problem, we can do that.”
I was especially grateful for the attention to detail demonstrated by my construction manager. She frequently offered thoughtful suggestions that improved the overall functionality of the space. One small example: she recommended relocating a USB-C outlet to better support how I planned to use my office. She made many small adjustments, that I had not thought of, that made a big difference in the use of limited space. She also made a conscious effort to help me save money whenever possible. Throughout the entire project, the consistent message from every team member was clear: they genuinely cared about the final outcome, and it shows in every detail. Every person who worked on my home was professional, thoughtful, and highly skilled.

Perhaps most impressively, and something that feels almost unheard of in construction, the project was completed on time and on budget. While I chose to add a few upgrades along the way, all costs were fully transparent and clearly presented before any decisions were finalized. Transparency is invaluable in a home remodel, and Melton Design Build excels in this area.
