Great experience with this company. Basement drywalling/painting project was done beautifully. Four different workers - each was excellent and very professional. Jiri was terrific leading the work.

By far the best, most professional, considerate and thoughtful crew! Spent 4.5 days painting my home without a mess or any disruption while I worked at home most of the time. Cleaned up after each room, placed items exactly where they were before, finished on time and did a terrific job. Cannot recommend this company enough - stellar customer service!

Moved into a new condo and needed to paint the entire place. First sign that this was a professional and respectful business was when the rep removed his shoes without being asked! After a thorough walk-through with detailed questions and reasonable recommendations, he did not try to upsell any other services or give bogus discounts, like some others - another bonus! A two-man crew worked for 4.5 days (2,000 sf), working their way room by room, moving and covering each piece of furniture/decoration, putting everything back in its place, cleaning up after each room before moving on to the next. I work mostly from home so fully expected to be displaced for the week and made alternate plans for a work space if needed. The crew was so professional and considerate that I never had to leave the house to work. Because they worked in one room at a time and cleaned up so well, I always had a clean room to work in. The rep came at completion of the job to inspect and make sure we were happy with the work. Their work and customer service were stellar! Highly recommend!!!

A week or so ago, I had the pleasure of having North Shore do work on one of my bathrooms. There had been water damage on the wall next to the bathtub due to the caulking wearing off, so water seepage had caused a hole. (pictures coming soon)

Not knowing where else to start, I went on Yelp and started looking up various contractors, from plumbers to bathroom tile repair, to finally, drywall contractors. Everyone i looked up had a 4 1/2 or 5 star Yelp rating, but even among the 5 stars, North Shore Painting and Restoration differentiated themselves above and beyond the other 5 star companies. How?

1. North Shore was the ONLY company to insist on coming out in person for a free assessment to view the damage, instead of relying solely on photos to assess the damage, costs, and what it would take to repair it. This was very unique in this day and age and indicated a level of customer care right off the bat that boded well for me as a potential client.

2. Jiri, the head of North Shore, came out within a day or so of my call and was able to give me an estimate that same night. Like the other reviewers, I can attest to his professionalism and efficiency. He was also able to schedule me in at 7am the following week, and he started work on the repairs himself. As someone who's worked with contractors in the past, it's important for me to know that the head contractor knows how to do the work, not just delegate. Within 2hrs, he had cleaned the edges and beautifully recaulked the tub, opened up the wall with the damage--neatly and without undo mess and sprayed to get rid of any mold inside the wall. I knew it would have to be left open, and he explained that he or one of his workers would come back the following week.

3. Next week, right on time at 7am, Alfredo came to close up the hole with new drywall, primer, and painted, And he did all three with just as much proficiency and efficiency as Jiri. That's what I liked best, along with being nice enough to answer any questions I had: There was no wasted time, work, or unnecessary mess on either part. Plus, without asking, both men came into my home and took off their shoes, and did all the work in their socks! (Even though I expected and would've understood if they'd worked in shoes.)

Ultimately, I would say that anyone would be lucky to have North Shore work on their home. This is a company that truly CARES about the work they do and the customer is made to feel that their place is safe with a company that knows what it's doing and doesn't waste time or money to get it done. One of the best professional contractors I've worked with in Chicago, who I'd recommend to family or friends without hesitation. Not only Proficient and Efficient, but has a level of professionalism, customer care, courtesy, and integrity that’s become harder to find these days.

I was impressed by the number of repeat customers and what the other reviews had to say about Jiri and North Shore. After having them in my home, I completely understand why their customers love them and they will be the first ones I call (and recommend to others first) should similar problems ever happen again.
