From start to finish ODM is the least professional company I have dealt with in years. I would not recommend their services to anyone.

In short my experience includes incredibly unprofressional behaviour from all members of staff as well as witholding a refund until this review is removed.

11/18/2019: After discovering water damage in my house that warranted replacement of tile throughout the first floor, drywall/ appliances in a bathroom, and floor replacement in the bathroom on the second floor I was eager to get a jump on fixing this with insurance covering the bill. I called ODM. After talking with an individual on the phone who never named themselves, they explained that they often work with insurance, worked with exactimates, and would have someone out asap. Great!-or so I thought.

Note: For those unaware of what an exactimate is, essentially its a complete and full break down on exactly what work will be done to the inch. This includes precise measurements, allowances for parts etc. Because this type of estimate takes more time and is more precise, you often pay $250-350 to have someone come out and do this.

11/20/2019: ~10am an individual arrives at the house from ODM dressed as though he just woke up. His shirt is unbuttoned to an uncomfortablely low level (~40% undone). We clarify that we're asking for an exactimate as insurance has required this, he explains that yes that's what he's here to do. We show him the bathroom, and the kitchen tile, as we're about to mention the next portion of the damage he cuts us off asking 'is that it'? as if he's in a hurry to leave. He does this multiple times each time we go to mention something further. He takes some measurements of the tile and both bathrooms floor and walls while taking some notes on his clipboard.

He explains that within a week we'll be receiving an email with an exact breakdown on every room, and each portion of the work. We pay $300, and he leaves.

12/09/2019: After waiting 3 weeks and not hearing back, I called to multiple times before someone answered and explained it would be emailed that day.

We received an email containing absolutely no price breaks and even missing portions. Here is what we were sent: https://i.imgur.com/vUdETmr.png. Note the 'approx' values, lack of price break downs, and bulking of 'drywall' as 'install drywall' with no specifics on finishing texture or paint (which we requested)

I quickly called back and explained this isn't what we paid for. The individual on the phone snapped back at me stating that it was. After around 10 minutes of my concerns being dismissed, they finally explained that they would work to fix the issues with the quote.

12/11/2019: We were sent the exact same quote again but this time with wildly inaccurate pricing next to each portion. I explained that this isn't what we paid for, they said there's nothing they can do and then hung up on me.

12/18/2019: Yet to hear from them, I requested a refund. Later that day I received a call from another 818 number, the man on the other end identified himself as the owner of ODM. After some back and forth explaining what went wrong, him denying there was any mistake made, he agreed to send me a refund that day and it would arrive by Monday 12/23/2019.

12/28/2019: No sign of the check I text him asking when I should expect it. No response.

01/02/2020: Still not sign, I sent another text asking if it was sent. The response: "Please don't text to this phone number".

01/09/2020: Still no refund. Being in the area of ODM, we call to ask if we could instead pick it up from their office. They refused to provide the address and hung up.

Later that day I received a call from the owner, clearly agitated, who spends 8 minutes almost screaming at me over the phone demanding that I remove this review from their Yelp page or they will not refund the money.

01/10/2020: I receive another call from the owner who seems to have calmed down and calmly reiterates that although he promised a refund to us, he is not going to provide it until the review is removed.

Having dealt with this for 2 months, and being frustrated myself now, I explain that what he is asking is illegal. The refund must be issued and we will consider changing the review after we receive it. He then explains that he is so busy he hasn't had time to deal with this.

Notes to the owner:
1. If you promise something will be done by x day, and it is not, you should notify the customer to this delay. 1 day extra is usually fine, but to delay weeks without notifying anyone is incredibly unprofessional.
2. If you are upset, do not call a customer and decide that screaming at them will solve the issue.
3. When someone is waiting for a refund, don't try to mock them by saying "oh its not that much". You have no idea what dollar amount is a lot to someone.
4. If someone leaves you a bad review, don't try to extort them into changing it. That is beyond reprehensible let alone illegal.

We couldn't be happier with the work from ODM Construction. The price of the renovations was reasonable. Humberto help us in getting all the necessary permits for the renovations, a process that I would not have been able to do without his expertise and guidance. Humberto was always available, and the whole crew was efficient manner. The team was on time and easy to work they were wonderful! Extremely professional and hard working! They definitely went the extra mile with their craftsmanship as well as keeping the workspace clean everyday.

From our initial phone call through the final touch ups, our experience with ODM has been excellent. We combined two bedrooms to make a master suite, enlarged and remodeled one bath, remodeled two other baths, took out walls, totally remodeled our kitchen and replaced all flooring. The team took the time to get to know my style and did a fabulous job guiding me through the process of what seemed like a million decisions. When the work actually started, the crew was courteous, professional, and highly qualified. The attention to detail was particularly evident in the tile work. All dates were communicated to me in a weekly schedule and deadlines were met. When decisions had to be made along the way, I was given a list of pros and cons which were backed up by experience and hands on knowledge to assist in the process. I could not be happier with my new home.

Our experience with ODM Construction was very positive. We did an extensive remodel of our kitchen that included taking out a wall and creating a great room, not to mention our home was built in 1962, so it was complicated. We met with Humberto the contractor/owner of ODM Construction to review the scope of the project.
He spent a few hours getting to know the space, how we lived in it and what some of our hopes and wishes were. The design team created several design options, and we finally settled on one that fit our budget. Once the price was set, there were no additional surprise charges as the remodel progressed.

The ODM team did a complete remodel of our master bath, and we couldn't be happier with the work. From our first meeting to completion everything exceeded our high expectations. All their workers were professional and highly skilled. A schedule was presented to us, and the deadline was met 1 week before. Now that this project is completed, we're already planning the next one, and ODM Construction will be chosen again.

ODM Construction is one of the best remodeling companies in the city if not the best. The workers were always on time, competent, polite and cleaned up each day. The project met deadlines and budget. Humberto was always at the job site to see if there are any questions or any concerns. I could not be more pleased with the master remodeling and highly recommend ODM Construction.
