Transforming a Crawl Space: Success!

Transforming a Crawl Space: Success! At One Speed Services, we take immense pride in improving the homes of our clients across the Aurora, OR community. A recent project showcased just how our expertise can transform not only living spaces but also provide peace of mind. The Challenge: Water Issues in the Crawl Space When we were contacted by Joni Epstein, she expressed concern over persistent water issues that were affecting her crawl space. It was clear that remediation was necessary, and she needed a professional service that could handle everything from trenching to mold remediation. Joni's crawl space had succumbed to water, which left her feeling uneasy every time it rained. Upon assessing the situation, we presented Joni with a detailed estimate that included the full scope of work: trenching, the installation of a sump pump, a new vapor barrier, and thorough mold remediation. The Transformation Process Our team promptly arrived to tackle the project. As we began work, we evaluated the site conditions further. This diligence paid off; we discovered that some of the originally estimated tasks were unnecessary. By making adjustments to our work plan, we successfully reduced the costs by 35% for Joni. Here’s a breakdown of what we accomplished: - Trenching: We created a proper drainage system around the home to divert water away from the crawl space. - Sump Pump Installation: To combat any potential flooding, we installed a reliable sump pump system. - New Vapor Barrier: A fresh, durable vapor barrier now protects the crawl space from moisture and mold. - Mold Remediation: Our specialists meticulously addressed any mold issues already present, ensuring a healthy environment. The crawl space was too tight for a walkthrough, but we kept Joni in the loop through photos, ensuring she could see our progress. At the end of the project, we also protected the interiors of the house and left the surroundings spotless. The Result: A Dry, Healthy Crawl Space Once the project was completed, Joni was thrilled with the transformation. She noted the professionalism of our entire team, as everyone—from the estimator to the work crew—was prompt, respectful, and communicative. > “We now have a dry, clean crawlspace and peace of mind that our water issues have been remediated. Now we can simply sit back and enjoy the sound of the rain on the roof without worry.” - Joni Epstein Given the variety of services we offer, Joni plans to return to us for further projects, including attic insulation work that she had put on hold due to her crawl space issues. Conclusion This project not only improved the structure of Joni's home but also restored her trust in her living environment.
