We received 3 bids and we are so happy with went with Suraj and the team. They are professional and really treated our home like their own. I can’t recommend them enough. Suraj had a great vision for our heating solution and it turned out great. It was about 2 days for an install of 4 units, that team is incredible! All of the piping is done very aesthetically and we had a complicated request. You should definitely choose this team.

I recently had Progressive Comfort Solutions install a heat pump system in my house to replace the original in-floor radiant heating. My house is 3 floors, with a “great room” main floor, a big bonus room downstairs, and four bedrooms on the top floor. We spec’ed out a system with two outdoor units and six indoor units (what I expected). Their quoted price was significantly better than the other bids I received, for essentially the same equipment (Mitsubishi, slightly different capacities on some of the indoor units).

Progressive is a small company with really good people; I liked all of them, and they were all very personable, happy to keep me informed of what was going on, and involved me in any decisions that needed to be made. We figured out together the best indoor unit placement and conduit routing that minimized the visual impact and optimized the indoor unit locations for best effectiveness. I was very happy with the way that all went. They were also careful when working inside to protect the floor and furniture, and to thoroughly clean up after themselves.

Suraj Lobo runs the company and is involved in practically everything. He did the initial site visit and estimate, and he was present and working for much of the installation work. Very easy to work with, very open and transparent. He clearly cares about his team a lot and was careful to watch out for their safety (it was cold and icy outside). Suraj’s team does something very unusual: they start every morning with stretching/calisthenics for a few minutes while they talk through the day’s work plan, which I’m sure reduces their workplace injuries. They asked whether there was a place inside my home where they could do this, and I was happy to oblige.

That said, there were a couple of frustrations that came with working with a small company. One of the key guys on the installation team came down with the flu, which set the completion of the work back a couple of days. Suraj also had a family emergency that also caused some delays. The weather also did not cooperate, which is not something under their control. But they were very communicative about what was going on and their plan for finishing the job as quickly as possible.

Suraj, for all of his strengths, took over a week to get me an estimate. Also when he did the walk-through to prepare the estimate, he didn’t take notes as he walked around – didn’t even have a clipboard or a measuring tape to size up rooms. I assume he wrote extensive notes as soon as he got back in his van. It was a bit off-putting at the time because it sort of gave the impression that he wasn’t serious, but the estimate I got had all the details right so I guess it works for him.

Overall I am very happy with the job they did – and the price. The system is working well. They were also very prompt about scheduling the inspector to come out and complete the plumbing and electrical inspections. I like supporting small companies, even knowing that they too have their frustrations sometimes (just a different set than large, faceless corporations).

We had a great experience with Progressive Comfort Solutions. Suraj was very knowledgeable and patient in explaining various options and refining their proposal based on our questions and concerns. He worked with us to find an appropriate unit based on our preferred location for it, whereas some other companies tried to talk us into placing it in a more inconvenient location or offered opinions without fully researching our property. The entire crew was friendly, respectful, and considerate about noise and disruption while I was working from home. They finished when they said they would and we are very pleased with the results.

I highly recommend working with Progressive Comfort Solutions. They installed a heat pump unit and two interior air blower units in our house and did fantastic work. There are many reasons to recommend them:

Their communication is excellent - by email, telephone, and in-person meetings. Suraj and Grace are extremely responsive and were always able to provide us with information and answer our questions.

They were also flexible with regards to planning our project. They initially gave us three alternatives to consider, and as we homed in on one of the proposals, they made additional suggestions to the recommended equipment based on our various questions and concerns.

They were also very reliable. They always kept our appointments, started the work when it was scheduled, and finished exactly when they predicted. The work was done well, and the system is operating perfectly. After the work was completed, Suraj took the time to explain the new system, how to operate and maintain it, etc.

Even with all of the above, Progressive Comfort Solutions was cost-effective. We had bids from other companies that were more expensive and that were less flexible on the type of system they recommended to install. Suraj seemed more knowledgeable, was extremely professional, and did the work for less cost.

Overall, our experience working with Progressive Comfort Solutions was simply excellent.

I used Progressive Comfort Solutions to replace an old gas furnace with a heat pump/AC system in the attic of my split level home. This was not an easy project due to the limited space in the attic and the small access hatch in the hallway. I appreciated Suraj's time to work through this challenging project and to complete this project without having to create a larger attic access opening. I appreciated Grace and her organization with scheduling, automatic reminders and a check list of details to have completed prior to the start of the project.

The team arrived on time and worked tirelessly through a rainy, dark December day. They were polite to me and each other.
