We’ve used Radiant a few times over the years and have always been satisfied with their work. 4.5 years ago we paid $9,500 for a new tankless water heater. It started throwing 003 errors which is a starved for gas error. Radiant charged me over $300 for 20 mins of work to determine that a $65 part (gas regulator) that they also installed when we bought the tankless needed to be replaced. Not only did they not allow the $300 diagnostic fee to be applied to the repair (standard practice), they wanted $1,100 to replace it!!! Another plumber quoted a total of $300 - $400 for replacement. So, Radiant should have applied the diagnostic fee toward this and maybe I would have had to pay an additional $100 at most. $1,100!! Whoa. Icing on the cake, I’ve called 4 times to speak to a manager to explain the estimate, and nobody calls me back. Going to initiate a chargeback with my credit card company now. STAY AWAY FROM RADIANT.<br><br>**UPDATE** Found another plumber who charged me $405 including the regulator. Even came out the same day! So yeah, Radiant was trying (and succeeded a little bit) to rip me off.<br><br>**SECOND UPDATE**. This is in response to Radiant’s response to my review. After 6-7 phone calls and several days, I finally did get a call from customer care. She said she doesn’t work in plumbing and has no idea how you determine pricing! I waited 3 days to hear that? The one good thing is that then finally a manager in plumbing called me. He fed me some BS about why you are expensive, then offered 10% off plus I could apply the $300 I already paid. That was still almost double what another plumber charged. Radiant is a scam. Plumber who came out used to work for Radiant and confirmed that yes Radiant tries to scam people.
