Scheduled an appt for routine water heater checkup and was scheduled the next day. My technician Juan came out and had a look at was very polite and friendly and explained to me everything that needed to be changed. I hadn't had my water heater checkup in 6 years so there were a few parts that needed replacement. He showed me everything and even went through why it's needed and what it does. The service was fast and done with care. Can't thank Radiant and Juan for their service enough I highly recommend.

Luxury service at luxury prices.
I donāt mean to bash the tech and sales guys as they were professional, knowledgeable, and friendly people.
My grievances are with the company strategy and their high pricing. It seemed to me they want to sale high-cost full replacements when dealing with failed older systems knowing that you are sitting in the heat cought offguard by a sudden failure.
My recommendation if you decide on a replacement in the summer heat, get a window unit or portable AC and get a few companies to quote. A few hundred bucks spent may save you thousands by giving you time to make an informed decision.
The full saga:
When the repair tech arrived, he showed me a menu of typical ranges of repair costs which I think is a brilliant idea to set proper expectations; I wish they had this information on their webpage. I told him I believed the outdoor condenser fan failed but he insisted on starting with the indoor portion. Heās the expert I figured, and customers are notorious for misguided diagnoses. He spent probably 30 minutes inspecting the indoor unit and came back with a laundry list of issues and reasons as to why I should replace my 20-year-old system. He is 100% correct in the recommendation, but I would have preferred he started with diagnosing the problem at hand and then started talking about why I should replace the whole thing.
He spent about 15 minutes outside and validated my diagnoses and recommended replacing the capacitor as well. When he gave me the pricing on the repair, I was a bit surprised as it was well over 2x my ballpark estimation (4x part costs from reputable suppliers has done me well for mid-tier estimates in the past). The lead time for the motor was also 2x what I could order online with ground shipping, but better for them to say it arrived early than late.
We agreed the best path forward was to replace the ancient unit, paid the reasonable diagnostic fee, and set up an appointment later in the day with their sales guy for a whole system replacement quote.
While waiting for the sales guy to arrive later in the day I called a few other AC companies and set up appointments to get quotes. Iāve never bought an AC system before but knew that being such an expensive item I should get competing quotes.
Sales guy was very professional and quickly laid out 3 options plus a recommended add on. He offered a compelling discount and the possibility of starting the next day if I said yes by the end of the day. I informed him I needed to wait for the other companies to quote. I never got the quote in writing and Iām assuming itās because they knew they would not be competitive.
In the end I would say their quote for a full replacement was almost 30% higher than all the others. All the others came back with much lower similar pricing. Some offered to start work the next day those that couldnāt offered to loan portable AC units. My final choice did have a 4-day lead time, but the wait saved me thousands of dollars.

Trane 2-Stage Unit Install 5-Star Service
We replaced our 24 year old Lennox unit yesterday which while not completely failing was clogging up with rust in the drains, low on very expensive Freon, and just tired and inefficient. A repairman, Shiloh, came out the previous week, to drain the clogged pans, and took pictures of what he was cleaning out of the condenser pan, why it was clogging up the drains, how it was low on Freon, rusty coils, etc. We requested a sales technician come give us some options of installing a new unit. I believe Radiant can sell and install almost any brand. After reviewing several options and brands, Matt, the sales professional, thought we would be happiest with the Trane 2-Stage unit with the air quality and purification package (after seeing me sneeze and sniffle with allergies. The air purification has ionizers, HEPA filters, etc to purify the air before distribution into the ducts. I had 3 2-stage units (Lennox) at a previous house and was always amazed at how low our utility bills were. The day after the sales rep came (good timing), a crew showed up the next morning around 8:30 and put down drop clothes where they would be working and began replacing our unit. The crew, Ashton and L. B., Were very respectful of our furnishings and space. After they started, the warmest it ever got inside the house was about 82 degrees, start to finish.
They arrived on time and finished up by 3 as the house started cooling down. Ashton then explained the different aspects of the thermostat and how to communicate with Bluetooth if we desired. He also sent pictures of the entire install with notes about how to maintain it. So far we are very pleased with the level of service and professionalism demonstrated by these guys and yes I would definitely recommend them.

Yuri Escalona did a great job helping me replacing a valve in my house checking the plumbing for pressure issues and repair on my water heater. He was very detailed in his explanation of the issues with the system and options I had. I really appreciate his hard work. Great work! šš
