So happy with the quick, fair, and excellent work. All three techs who worked on your AC were knowledgeable, kind, and respectful. AC is back on and we are so happy with their work!

Radiant Plumbing is incredibly sketchy, and I feel obligated to warn others. We were dealing with a plumbing emergency, and the initial quote they gave was $100,000 (yes, you read that right). When I pushed back, they magically dropped it to $80,000 — which was still outrageous.

To make matters worse, the sales rep, Joe, couldn't provide me with detailed pricing on line items, which made it obvious the numbers were completely made up.

Thankfully, I got a second opinion from another reputable company, and the actual cost came to under $20,000. Radiant was literally trying to charge us four to five times the real price with a hard BOOK TODAY sell.

This company uses aggressive, high-pressure tactics and inflated pricing... total scam behavior. I’ve never had such a terrible experience with a service provider. If you value your money and peace of mind, avoid Radiant Plumbing at all costs.

Plumber came by for a sewer scope, he was great and seemed to know what he was doing. However, my clients paid $500 and we never received the quotes for the work he said we needed to get done. Spent 3 days calling to get them, the weekend staff is incredibly rude and no help. This was for a real estate transaction and they were extremely difficult, even laughed on the phone when I tried to express the urgency. In person, the plumber said it would be around $1600-$4000 (who knows since we never saw the actual quote) so I sent the video to another local plumber who said the pipes didn’t need to be cleaned but if we did want to it would be almost half of radiant quoted. When speaking to the other agent involved she also mentioned Radiant was the most expensive company in town. It was nice they came out so fast but useless since we never got the actual quote. In my career I have people constantly asking for plumbers and I will tell them all to not use Radiant.

Edit: the number they commented to call is the number I called all weekend for help. I even asked to talk to a supervisor yesterday and was told no. I requested online and on the phone that a supervisor call me back and I haven’t gotten one call. There is zero reason for me to call again

I edited this down to 3 from 5. Radiant is professional and responsive. They are almost always available to do something for your job same day because of their size and business model.

However, that size is why they are ultimately not a five star outfit. I just don’t think it is possible as I have thought about the issues I’ll detail in a bit.

I have done a lot of business with them, so I think I can safely say:

1) Radiant is in the upper quartile (at least) for price. There is nothing about their work that justifies the premium. But, they are not being greedy or unscrupulous either. They are just a super large and polished operation. You are paying for the speed and professionalism. Nevertheless, it is enough of a premium that your expectations for quality and their confidence in their work will be incorrectly set too high.

2) The quality of their work, and I am averaging across many HVAC and plumbing jobs, is average to below average.

3) The variance is quite high too.

We had three similar HVAC units installed. Two air handlers and thermostat controllers ended up on one side of our site, and the third on the other end. So, two were twins.

One of these system’s twins was installed amazingly well, all the tape placed perfectly, the thermostat wires were fished and mated to the thermostat controller perfectly, such that the controller was flush to the wall and square to the floor. The second, wow very different. The tape was slapped on haphazardly, the thermostat controller fell off the wall within a couple of days, and the wire was WAY too short. The thermostat controller was also not hooked up correctly. This seems like the one thing I am hung up on, but I have more issues with plumbing, it just is a good example since it has a within group comparison.

The compressor/refrigerant and drain lines out were also dramatically different. One set had perfectly drilled holes, just the right amount of slack and the PVC welds were perfect. The second (that goes to the shoddier of the twins) used weakened PVC, that may have come from someone’s yard as they came stained with gas and mud (maybe my yard?) the welds were ineffective if they were attempted at all. This PVC line never drained well, and ultimately broke off. They came back to fix that, but that was a joke. I fixed that line myself in the end.

The outdoor unit to the meh-install was also not seated to a base as well as its overachieving twin. One is inaudible on the neighbors porch, and balanced perfectly. The other is less balanced, and you can tell.

4) WRT 2, and 3 together: if you have a job that you think could require multiple interventions, you will run into issues.

We have had multiple people come to fix a very simple sump-pump situation. They sold us a pump that started showing issues early on. When we had them come back, the new crew thought the pump the previous crew sold us was incorrect and that we would need to upgrade to a 240V. They had no response to having it pointed out to them, that they misled us, or made a big error. Why would they? They didn’t mess up the choice, it was a couple of guys that probably have moved on.

They convinced us to pay to upgrade our functioning and non-leaking main pressure regulator to a brass set. The guy who installed it came back the day after because he knew he didn’t seal something right. It has continued to slowly leak since.

They were here recently to help us with the leak and they told us it was installed incorrectly and needed more brass that we would have to pay for (fine) plus labor. But, this is to fix THEIR work. The leak remains while I find someone else. We are in a recharge zone, so I know the water will go back to city use, but I’m still paying for it.

This is when I decided we would not do business with them anymore. I do not think you should rule them out. Just consider the tome I left here and see how you think your job will fit.

This is a sold 3 stars for average. They are super fast, but they do fast work that they do not stand behind at all.

Super communication re timing of service call and then punctual. Zeke was as courteous and kind as he was knowledgeable and professional. Very patient with questions, estimate options written up quickly and presented in lay terms and without pressure. Couldn't ask for more.
