The Challenge Before Us
Our client reached out to us because they needed several small oak trees removed that were growing along their fence line and encroaching into power and cable lines near their home. Transforming Trees Safely & Effectively
Transforming Trees Safely & Effectively
At Royal Tree Services, we understand that trees are both beautiful and vital elements of your landscape, but when they start to pose risks, it's time to take action. Recently, we had the pleasure of working on a project in St. Petersburg where we transformed a client's outdoor space by carefully managing some challenging tree issues.
The Before: A Risky Situation
When Danny Staffiles initially reached out to us, he voiced concerns over several large trees that were not just overhanging his home but also posed a potential threat to his detached garage and his neighbor's property. One particular Live Oak was excessively tall and dangerously close to his roof. This situation prompted Danny to seek our help, as he worried about possible damage during storms or with regular wear and tear.
The trees needed trimming, and safe removal was a must. Danny had initially sought quotes from multiple companies, looking for a reliable service that understood his needs.
Our Approach: Safety and Professionalism
Upon arriving for the assessment, we immediately recognized the hazards posed by the overhanging branches. Our team prioritized safety for both the property and our crew. We suggested a comprehensive approach: removing two big trees while also trimming and thinning the Live Oak.
Running into mechanical issues with our equipment on the job day didn't deter us. We swiftly communicated the situation to Danny, letting him know about the delay and how we planned to borrow equipment from another service—utilizing our good relationships in the industry to ensure minimal disruption to his project.
Additionally, we employed the use of a "climber"—a skilled team member in a harness with a chainsaw—and avoided mechanical lifts for the high trimming. This approach allowed for precise cuts, preserving the integrity of the remaining trees while keeping risks at bay.
The After: A Safe, Clean Landscape
We are thrilled with the results of this project! After the tree removal and trimming, Danny was left with a much safer outdoor area. He was particularly impressed with our stump grinding service, which left no trace of the removed trees and a clean space where yard maintenance could easily be carried out afterward.
> “My experience with Royal Tree and Lawn Service was great. Brandon responded quickly to get me my initial estimate, which was competitive to other quotes I received. ... On the day of service, there was equipment problems, but Brandon let me know they would be running late and evidently borrowed equipment from another service, which not only kept him on my job but also indicates to me that he has good relationships with his competitors.” - Danny Staffiles
Moreover, the best part, according to Danny, was how we efficiently handled the cleanup—the pile of wood that resulted from the removals was taken care of, leaving him with just a simple sweeping task.
Conclusion: Your Trusted Tree Care Experts
Our commitment to safety, professionalism, and quality trees care and landscaping solutions has once again resulted in another satisfied client. We take pride in effectively managing tree risks while also celebrating the beauty of your landscape.

Expert Oak Tree Removal in St. Pete
At Royal Tree Services, we take great pride in providing exceptional tree care solutions to our valued clients in St. Petersburg, FL, and surrounding areas. Recently, we had the pleasure of working on a particularly challenging project that involved the removal of three very mature oak trees from a residential property. Our team, led by Brandon, was excited to tackle this task, which came with some unique challenges.
The Challenge: A Tight Spot
When Scott Miller reached out to us, he explained the complexity of the job. The three oak trees were intricately positioned near the home and utility lines, creating a potential risk for damage if not handled correctly.
- One oak tree stood a mere 3 feet from the west side of the house.
- The other two trees were on the east side, about 5–10 feet from the house.
- Power and phone lines loomed on both the front and back of the property.
Given these proximity issues, Scott was understandably concerned about ensuring the safety of his property and surrounding structures.
Our Approach
To address the challenges posed by the trees' location, our team devised a meticulous plan. We concluded that the only viable option was to use a crane for the tree removal. Here’s how we executed the project:
1. Careful Evaluation: We began with a comprehensive walkthrough to assess the site and identify the best removal strategy.
2. Sectional Dismantling: Each tree was carefully dismantled in sections, ensuring that every piece was removed with precision.
3. Craning Overhead: Using the crane, we craned the sections over the roof of Scott's home, navigating the tight spaces expertly.
4. Efficient Cleanup: After safely lowering the sections to a designated staging area, we processed the pieces into smaller bits and efficiently hauled them away.
Our team's performance during this project can only be described as a well-rehearsed ballet—calm, methodical, and exceedingly professional.
> “Not only was the work done safely and efficiently, but there was also zero damage to our home, our yard, or any neighboring property. The crew was polite, respectful, and clearly took pride in leaving the site clean and well cared for.” — Scott Miller
The Result: A Job Well Done
We’re thrilled to report that the project was completed successfully without any damage to the house or surrounding properties. Our client Scott expressed immense satisfaction with our work and the level of professionalism his crew exhibited throughout the process.
Brandon, the owner of our company, is deeply committed to both the health of the trees we care for and the integrity of our service. His concern for both our clients and their properties truly sets Royal Tree Services apart from other tree care companies.
