Darrell and Hunter did a great job on my AC today. Went over everything they did and what I needed to do to maintain a good running system.

The appointment was supposed to be between 8 and 10. The technician called at 10:15 to say that he would be here in 10 minutes. No explanation on why nobody could have called me earlier. The technician seemed knowledgeable and thorough, so that was the only good thing. However, he told me that I would be receiving a report showing the summary of the inspection that I never received. I am certainly not going to call the company only to wait on hold for 10-15 minutes again. I won't be using this company again.

I am very sad to leave this review because Hays used to be a great company with excellent service. I have 2 houses and used them for years for both HVAC and plumbing and even had the membership at some points. But they changed management recently and merged with a terrible company so the customer quality went from 10/10 to 1/10 in a few days. extremely sad to witness this. The only reason this is not 1 star review is because the company used to be great in the past
1. When I got a house, I called orangutan hvac (now Service Experts Tempe) because they had a very good offer for cooling inspection. The "technician" got in my house and started screaming that every year same story and tells me the same things and I should get a new HVAC unit immediately. When I explained that there is no chance he has talked to me before in his life because I just bought the house, he did not even apologize. They did not even do any real inspection, just pushed for me to get a new HVAC. I fired them and hired Hays who did the inspection and found no issue. the HVAC unit lasted another 4 years... At that point I switched all my business to Hays
2. I called Hays this week because I needed someone to open a little a damper in one duct to allow more airflow in that part of the house so all rooms have same temperature. Unfortunately, Hays has merged with this terrible company. Juan Flores came yesterday and refused to do that. Instead he told me I need to spend $7,000 to redo all ductwork from scratch. When I asked politely if he can adjust the damper, he insisted "We are done doing work for free" . When I pointed out that I paid $99 he said that this is the diagnostics fee only.
Unfortunately a quick inspection or a quick fix is "work for free" in their mind and will push you to spend thousands of dollars every time you call them. Save your money and call someone honest instead. It is extremely disappointing to see that this company cannot be Hays anymore.

Ashton, Zoe and Hunter did a great job. They were professional and friendly and left the house feeling nice and cold.

I would rate “0” if possible.
Hays Cooling, Heating & Plumbing This is a long read, but you have to be aware and protect yourself!
I had my AC contract renewed and serviced on 3/31.
They told me I needed to replace something that was $650, but I didn't agree to it. Otherwise everything looked good they said.
So, about a week or two later, I started to run my AC unit.
Massive amounts of dust throughout the house, walls, etc. I had to call them 4 times to tell them this is effecting my health and causing me to have asthma attacks from the pollutants. They finally came out on 5/6 after several attempts to have them do an inspection because I thought maybe something was covered or sealed properly.
They ended up sending out someone from their sister company, even though that started with a hiccup too (I was told by Hays that somebody from their sister company would be out on 5/5 between 11 & 2 and when they didn't show up, I called Hays and left a message and then received a call shortly after from the sister company telling me nobody told them they were suppose to come out. I pleaded for them to have someone come out asap as this is causing me to be ill to be inhaling all of this for the last 5 weeks. They did come out first thing in the morning.
The following was the report from the sister company that did a "quality service" vIsit
Blower panel was put back improperly causing the air in the attic to be sucked in through the AC unit into the home. This was 5 weeks that I was inhaling these pollutants. All this was blowing into my house and all the calls I put in to them to get them to come out urgently.
I've had to get medications for my lungs, missed time from work, eye irritation, cough, irritated throat.
They just didn't take me seriously and there was no was no sense of urgency even to respond to calls.
Two days after the temporary repair I called Hays again and asked to receive a call back from the manager. I was requested that they pay for me to have the air ducts clean and a deep clean of the house, "to make it right.”
There is dust everywhere.... Walls, closets
I was told I would get a call back and that didn't happen either.
So, because all of those pollutants are still in the air ducts it's still blowing through the house and I continue to have physical symptoms.
To give you a little more background, I was called by Hays the morning of the scheduled service date 3/31 and they asked me if they can change my appointment (that I made a few months before) because they had a lot of people call of sick so there short staffed. I agreed to have them come out at the end of the day.
There were 2 guys that showed up. They forget to increase the thermostat when they left, no big deal, right? They were exhausted and in a hurry to get out, so they didn't do the job properly. So, it sounds like the employees were being overworked (that's how things like this happen, but a complete disregard for somebody’s health because of their negligents, is unacceptable. I was told that Hays was bought out and they lost half of their employees.
The worst part is that this is effecting my health and there just wasn't any regard for that. What they did not do properly caused me to get sick.
I strongly discourage anybody from using this company. Mistakes happen. Yes, but not listening to a customer that's telling you it's making them sick and then 5 weeks to get it fixed but still blowing in the toxins because the ducts still need to be cleaned.
I don't want anybody to go through the health issues that I have gone through.
It's bad business.

Submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. He did not respond to the Better Business Bureau or me.
