Avoid if you value your time. Inefficient "Efficiency" policies.
I have been a long-time customer (back when this was AAA Heating and Airconditioning), but the transition to Southwest Plumbing, Heating and Air has been a massive step backward in customer service.
If you are a working professional or have a busy schedule, be warned: Southwestās policies are designed entirely for their convenience, not yours.
The Issues:
Zero Proactive Service: I pay for a quarterly HVAC maintenance contract. Throughout all of 2025, they never once reached out to schedule my appointments. I essentially paid for a service they failed to facilitate.
The "10-Minute" Cancellation Rule: After finally scheduling a visit for my two properties a month in advance, the experience was a disaster. Despite me calling at 10:00 AM on the day of, and receive their call at 11.29am to confirm I was working from home specifically for this appointment and would be on work calls, they canceled my technician at 2:40 PM because I didn't answer a "final confirmation" call 10 minutes before arrival. I was presenting on a Zoom call and couldn't pick up. A reality Southwest refuses to accommodate.
Efficiency Over Empathy: When I called back at 3:17 PM, the operator told me it is "company policy" to confirm availability multiple times right up until the tech arrives to ensure they never encounter a locked house. While they claim this is for the customerās benefit, it is actually a predatory efficiency tactic. They would rather a customer waste an entire WFH day than have a technician lose 5 minutes of "billable" time.
When this was AAA, I would receive a text with the technicianās photo and an arrival notification. It was seamless. Southwest has replaced that modern convenience with a rigid, high-maintenance phone-tag system that punishes customers for being at work.
Iāve now burned a work-from-home day with zero service to show for it. If I have to manage the scheduling, chase them for contract dates, and then be "on-call" like an employee just to get a technician to show up, I don't see what value Southwest is bringing to the table.
I will be looking for a new provider that understands that the customerās time is just as valuable as the technicianās.

Alexey showed up today and helped us understand all the ins and outs of our HVAC service, gave us recommendations, was very honest, and very kind and friendly to our obnoxious pets and kiddos. Would recommend him any day! Guillermo also came and did a very thorough inspection of our electrical system! He was very patient in helping us understand our options and took the time to thoroughly explain why he was making the recommendations for improvement.

Francisco and Ivan were prompt, knowledgeable, courteous and really skilled. A full toilet install as well as a valve replace in less than an hour. Stellar work and a good price.
