This is an update to my last rating for Stan's AC.
I was contacted by Roland Arrisola from Stan's AC to discuss my issues with the quality of service I received.
Roland was apologetic and understanding. Roland answered all of my concerns, and has restored my faith in Stan's AC services. I will continue doing business with Stan's AC moving forward.
Thank you Roland for reaching out, for taking my concerns into your own hands, and for giving me peace of mind. I am positive there will not be more issues with service to my AC unit moving forward!

Incompetent Company
Installation of furnace and AC were incomplete the day of delivery, and a follow-up had to be made until the following week to finish the install job! This is not what you want to hear when you have a brand new AC system being installed!
The company states they are 24/7 but I didn't get the "your broken AC matters to us" treatment. I had to continue calling the company to continue getting help, and I did not receive a call back for several of my voicemails! Help came once every week for a total of three summer hot weeks! It took the company two more visits after the install date, each visit one week apart from each other, to get the zoning configured correctly.
On the last visit I personally had to read the install manual to help the technician to correctly configure the zoning on the Remote Sensor, and then after the technician left I had to rewire the dampers to the correct zones on the control board since the technician wired the dampers to the wrong zones! The technician did run their own tests to presumably "ensure" the installation was successful and the technician marked that all was OK. I had a freezing first floor and an over heated second floor!
To say the least, the whole process was infuriating since the bill I was charged for the replacement of my old furnace and AC does not meet the type of service I received.
After my AC unit was replaced, I found out through my AC manufacturer website that they have a rebate program for their units. For a couple of weeks now I've been trying to get confirmation from Stan's to see if I qualify for a rebate from the manufacturer. I have not received a solid answer, and have been getting told that they will ask their "rebate person". Said person has yet to contact me, and for whatever reason it takes a full week to hear back from anyone at Stan's. The manufacturer rebate program will end in two weeks and I hope I can get in before is too late. I will keep trying to get in touch with a "rebates person" at Stan's, but my expectations are very low.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone!

This is the second time I have had the pleasure of dealings with Andrew. I am reaffirmed of my initial impression. he is professional, has great diagnostic skills, dead on analysis, and on hand parts needed. He is a unique service rep. these days. He personifies my old company mandate. Customer satisfaction is number 1. the company---Eastman Kodak

This is a 2 part answer. First, Stan's service was great. They were responsive and fixed the issue. Second, their costs are completely out of line. Our issue was a fairly new (<4 year old) Carrier system that Stan's installed had a bad blower motor / circuit board. The tech that diagnosed the issue (for $79) was in and out in <20 mins. Said the parts are pretty standard and Carrier is their biggest supplier / distributor - "parts should be in stock and installed the next day..." Turns out, the blower motor wasn't in stock (5-7 day lead time) and I had to pay an expedite fee of $80 to get it here the next day as summers in Austin are unbearable without AC. The next day, the tech installed the parts and we were back up and cool. The total cost of the repair: $79 diagnostic fee + $80 expedite fee + $681 for labor to replace the parts (which took about 90 minutes to complete) for a grand total of $840 in labor for a <4 year old system that is supposed to have great reliability according to the folks who installed it in the first place - Stan's. Given the total time spent for the 2 techs was <2 hours, that puts Stan's hourly rate >$400/hour.
July 22 update: I called Stan's and left a voice message with their customer care lead, Eric, who was out at lunch. Never heard back again. Dropping them to 2 stars as they don't really care about their customers as much as they care about online reviews. Disappointing...

Stan's was the AC installer for my house during construction. My home continues to sit at 78 degrees on a summer day inside. Multiple visits, a couple re balances, a coolant top off and nothing has changed. I keep getting told this is the best my system can do. Whether or not Stan's was involved in the design of my home, they installed a system that as professionals should have known was too small for my floor plan, and I'm stuck footing that bill. How's my system going to perform in 5 years if it can't hold up to year 1? If you work for shady companies and don't speak up on issues, you're guilty by association which is why they're getting this review.
On a side note, all the technicians that have been out were very professional, and I am in no way blaming them. Very professional and courteous. Except for the manager who, after telling me my brand new system that his company installed isn't ever going to perform well, said "We can sell you a new one if you want". I think I'll go with someone else.
Update:
AC unit stopped running today, a beautiful 102 degree day in July. Walked in and the house is at 84 and blowing hot air. Called Stan's. They picked up on the second attempt and told me they'd get a technician out my way. Got a call from a different person 15 minutes later saying they had a missed call from me then informed me they won't get someone out until Monday. Today's Friday. Don't do business with these people.

We had someone out a few weeks ago for our AC unit. I'm going to write what my experience was and you can consider if it's acceptable or not. The tech came by and said we needed a new blower motor, he switched the speed of the motor and it worked great. I knew it had to eventually be replaced. The tech didn't really answer the questions I was asking. Our house was built in 2017 and I was wondering what could cause a motor to go so quickly. I looked online and got a bunch of reasons but I wanted to know what the professional that was looking at my unit thought. The answer was "it just happens". I don't know, I want a tech that is going to give me some answers and happily answer questions before I start spending money with a company. Moving on, then I played phone tag with someone at the office a couple of times, and he stopped trying to call back so since the unit was working for now I just put it off. They charged $89 for the service call and weren't going to take it off the final price. It wasn't an after hours call and most places I've talked to take the service charge off the repair price. I called back today cause I wanted to go ahead and get it fixed and I was told I'd have to pay another service charge, and then was told about this month's special of the service charge being removed if you get the repair. I do wonder if that would've been a thing if I didn't ask about it. I don't know, I wasn't really pleased with the customer service at all. The changing speeds thing worked for a few weeks so I guess that's good, hence the 2 stars. Maybe I dealt with them on a bad day or two.
