Transforming an Arlington Deck

Transforming an Arlington Deck At Held Handyman, we take immense pride in our work, and one of our recent projects in Arlington, VA, truly showcased our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Recently, we were contacted by Andrew, who had a lengthy list of maintenance jobs that required our expertise, particularly focusing on the exterior trim replacement for a rooftop deck and a front porch. The Challenge Before our team arrived on site, the first impression of the rooftop deck and porch wasn’t just lackluster; the existing trim was weathered, making the entire space feel uninviting. Andrew expressed concern about how the worn-out trim affected the overall aesthetics and functionality of these outdoor areas. The client sought our help not only to modernize the appearance but also to ensure that everything was sealed properly against the unpredictable Arlington weather. Our Solution Understanding the importance of both durability and visual appeal, we set about developing a comprehensive plan to tackle the exterior trim replacement. Here’s how we approached the project: 1. Assessment and Planning: Upon inspecting the area, we discussed the best materials and design choices, ensuring alignment with Andrew's vision. 2. Removal of Old Trim: Our team carefully removed the existing trim to prepare for the new installation, taking great care to avoid damaging the underlying surfaces. 3. Installation of New Trim: Using premium quality materials specifically chosen for their durability and visual appeal, we installed the sleek new trim around the rooftop deck and porch. 4. Finishing Touches: In preparation for weather considerations, we completed necessary caulking and used Bondo where needed to ensure a smooth, seamless finish. Painting would be scheduled for when the weather allowed, as we want to ensure the longevity of our work. Despite some weather challenges, our team remained dedicated to clear communication with Andrew throughout the project, keeping him updated on our progress and the expected timeline. The Results The transformation was nothing short of stunning! The new trim not only revitalized the rooftop deck and porch but also enhanced the overall curb appeal of the home. Andrew was thrilled with the results, and it reaffirmed why we love what we do. > "Steve was great! We had a lengthy list of small maintenance jobs (and a few jobs for our HOA too), and Steve juggled them all, clearly communicated with us, and finished on time. Would recommend!" - Andrew We were delighted to receive such positive feedback from Andrew, demonstrating the success of our efforts and the satisfaction of our client. Conclusion At Held Handyman, our goal is to combine expert craftsmanship with excellent customer service, and this project in Arlington was a perfect example of that.
