I worked with Ram, Diana, Solomon, and the Sunshine team on an earthquake retrofit (EBB) + foundation repairs project. I have a 100+ year old house, and the crawlspace was in dire need of repairs. I received estimates from 8 contractors, and decided to work with Sunshine for 2 main reasons. First, they not only took the time to inspect and provide options for me to consider, they also went above and beyond to brainstorm on new/alternate ways to work within my constraints. Secondly, when I made a final decision to go with a more affordable repair plan, they presented me with all the risks which I accepted, and proceeded with the same professionalism as before. This made them stand out during that selection phase because other contractors got upset that I did not pick their most expensive solution and I could immediately sense the frustration and change in tone of voice and behaviors. After the work was done, Ram and the team made sure that the entire scope of work was completed with excellent quality. I really appreciate working with Ram and Diane from the office because quality control/assurance is important to me, and they both worked with me to make sure all questions are answered in details. I applaud their professionalism and their patience (even after the final check was collected). They do walk the talk on customer satisfaction, and this is rare in today's business world. Based on how the work was completed and signed off, I would surely give Sunshine 10 STARS!!! Thank you Ram, Diana, and Solomon and team.

Sunshine has my highest possible recommendation. I'll go further: if your home has a serious foundation issue and you are uncertain about what needs to be done, I feel this is THE company you need to call. How do I know? You can read about my scary experience here (my story at https://nextdoor.com/p/ygbcb95GFpfN but this does require a NextDoor login) but the short version of my story is: I bought my house trusting the foundation inspection provided by my realtor's referral. When THAT inspection turned out to be incomplete, I was nervous and met with MANY foundation firms (side note: in a new purchase, never use your realtor's recommendation unless you've extensively vetted the firm. The realtor's firm probably relies on a referral stream such that bad news will be minimized.)
Because my foundation repair was so important to me (my house is located in Rancho Palos Verdes, where many residents are nervous about the adjacent landslides), I compared MANY foundation repair firms. Because I don't know their vocabulary, I cross-checked the recommendations. Yes, it's true: if you have a serious foundation issue, you are likely to get more than one recommended approach, including one that is super expensive and unnecessary. Why? Not all firms are ethical. There do exists firms who employ scare tactics.
Solomon met with me multiple times and was extremely patient with my questions and uncertainty. This was so important to me that I asked another foundation firm, Dalinghaus, to evaluate the different approaches I had received. Dalinghaus reviewed my situation and basically said, "We agree with Sunshine's approach. And it's a fair price." I'm grateful to know these two honest foundation firms!
I wouldn't be surprised if Solomon is the single best person in the business. He knows the players and has seen many different situations. I can't imagine trusting the foundation to somebody with less experience. Solomon's experience enables his pattern recognition. (For a fact, some foundation repair projects fail because they don't really know what they are doing).
When I visited the work site, the crew was never standing around; they were always working. My house is now level and, finally, on a durable foundation. It was not a small project (*). These people are total pros.
If your foundation situation is serious, I think you need at least two things:
1. You need to identify the best solution, which includes avoiding being oversold an unnecessary solution.
2. Having identified the best solution, you need to trust that the crew takes pride in the importance of their work, and cares to deliver the best possible finished product.
I got both of these things from Sunshine. I am very grateful that my efforts vetting MANY foundation firms led me to select Sunshine.
(*) My project included Structural Support and Leveling (Installation of temporary shoring using hydraulic jacks and wood supports. Stucco removal to expose sill plates. Raising the structure for leveling. Replacement and installation of sill plates, perimeter rim joists, girder beams, and posts as necessary); Seismic Retrofitting (Installation of Simpson foundation plates, straps, and framing anchors for structural stability. Addition of blocking between floor joists along the perimeter); Underpinning and Crack Repairs (Excavation for underpins at foundation cracks. Installation of rebar in trenches and pouring concrete. Crack sealing with Simpson epoxy and high-strength mortar); and Finishing Work (Reinstallation of stucco to match the existing texture, Cleanup and debris removal, Final inspection approval.)

Really amazing! Honest, knowledgeable, and actually helpful. We went to several companies to inspect our 100 year old house's foundation. Sam did the best job explaining exactly what was happening. He didn't try to sell us on anything, super professional.
I was extremely nervous and now I actually feel much better. Thanks for helping us understand our new home Sam!
