He did not try using any scare tactics to force me into doing the work like another competitor had done. He assured me the repairs were fairly common and my house was not in any immediate risk of collapsing. I felt so at ease after he showed me photos and explained his team would be able to complete the work in a day or two. He sent me a small army of workers to the house who knocked off all the work in a single day. Sunshine's prices were better than most companies and I can't be any happier. Sunshine Foundation Repair Review - Northridge

If you have ever lived through an Earthquake like the 1994 Northridge event, you'll appreciate what a dramatic event that was. Even with Earthquake insurance, this was such a large event of substantial magnitude, you'll be better off with as much preparation as possible.
This area had a substantial earthquake in 1971 and 1994. We managed to make it through this period without catastrophic damage, but you never know how many "insults" your residence can handle before another seismic event occurs.
A friend of mine received a letter from the California Earthquake Authority and his insurance company advising that houses that were not retrofitted and reinforced would be subject to a rate increase and loss of coverage or both and found Sunshine Foundation Repairs in Northridge. He told me about his very positive impression of their company and particularly Solomon Einy, the representative that came out to his house.
My Earthquake insurance at that time was unaffected because I had a non-CEA policy and consequently no letter to do anything. However, this was an opportunity for me to review my options and after hearing about Sunshine Foundations, I decided to call and make an appointment.
My goal was two-fold: I wanted to secure our property and lower our insurance premiums. Unfortunately, it was at a time when the California Earthquake Authority reimbursement program was on hiatus, but I decided that I couldn't count on the timing for the state assistance, and I needed to do something regardless.
I contacted Sunshine Foundations and scheduled an appointment last November and specifically asked to meet with Solomon. He came to our home and prepared an impressive report and scope of work with detailed photographs of our foundation. Solomon gave me his cell phone number and guided me through the whole process for the permit and the certificate authentication to the City of Los Angeles so I could present all of this documentation to the insurance company.
He scheduled the work within 4 weeks of our initial meeting and made us feel so comfortable during the entire process that we signed the same day.
On the day of the project, Solomon showed up, introduced us to the job foreman and got everyone started and introduced me to the job foreman. They were on time and professional. There were no progress payments required for this job; they just started based on my initial deposit and I paid them for the job once the city inspection was done. Solomon got me all the paperwork and I submitted this to the insurance company. He made everything very easy for me.
Price is only one factor in any transaction, the real question is can you work with these people. You certainly can with Sunshine Foundations and I highly recommend this company without reservation.

When we found out we had foundation issues, we were pretty stressed--it's such a crucial part of the house, and figuring out what to do and who to trust seemed overwhelming. Then we met Sam. From the beginning, it was obvious that he's not just about the job; he cares deeply about the people he works with. His attention to detail and dedication to making sure everything is done right really set him apart. Sam took the time to explain everything to us in a way that made sense, and his communication was always clear and prompt. He doesn't just treat his clients like numbers; he makes you feel like you're his priority. Solomon came out to check our sinking floor on one side of the house, especially in the living room area. He was knowledgeable, thorough and straightforward when it came to his recommendations. He had up-to-date equipment (laser) for measuring the floor levels throughout the house, and spent a long time in the crawl space snapping dozens of photos to cover the entire area. Afterwards he sat us down to go through each photo one by one. In the end, he recommended we do . . . nothing! The foundation is sound, despite its age (100 years), only hairline cracks and very few of those. No sign of flooding either. The EQ retrofit job we had done years ago when we moved in looked fine to him. So did the overall condition of the wooden support structure. Yes, we could try to fix the problem - for instance to lift the house or add support below the foundation, but it would be costly and there may be residual damage in the process. Since it isn't really necessary at this time he can't recommend it.
So that's why we can wholeheartedly recommend Solomon. If you want a thorough and honest free inspection from a foundation repair company, he's your man. You may not hear the same good news we did, but if he recommends work be done you can rest assured that it really does need to be done.
