This is an unfortunate review to write because I really wanted to like working with Harmony. They were eager to get started, responsive, and willing to work around some pretty significant obstacles for a unique project. They were very pleasant and responsive with the requests for a revised pay schedule as we had all items to be installed (in fact we had those purchased, in the next room, and ready before the project started).
As things kicked off, everything seemed promising. They provided protection for the rest of our house and the crew doing the demo, although destructive by nature, did a good job of getting through that work without too much damage to the rest of the house. Like previous construction projects, they started off strong with regular communication and consistent work being done.
However, as the project wore on, we realized the GC wasn't communicating the plan with his subs and we multiple times had to stop work and/or walk the work to be done with the sub when the GC didn't show up or didn't provide information. Multiple subs expressed frustration but also a can-do attitude that seems to be part of the trade world. Additionally, after our demo, the majority of the work was done late afternoon into the evening. It wasn't until we asked about more convenient timing for the labor, we were told their subs had day jobs and they fit us in at the end of the day when they could. This wasn't explained when we signed the agreement.
Those issues are frustrating but more about scheduling. The biggest areas of concern are quality and willingness to address those quality issues. Plumbing wasn't done to code for venting (we had a 3rd party inspection to confirm), new walls were installed crooked and incorrectly for our shower area, making the tile and shower glass impossible to install straight. The painters painted over door hinges, directly over wet caulk and left many gaps, holes, or protruding nails in the trim work.
By the end of the project, we had gone from a three week project to eight weeks due to their mismanagement of the schedule and their subs, along with them having to redo so much of the work. Like so many contractors they attempted to gaslight us about us being unreasonable and that they were doing us a favor by fixing the issues we pointed out. We ultimately had to compromise on many unnecessary build quality issues that could have been avoided with decent communication or care from one trade to the next. The GC kept telling us that we could address anything later with our warranty - of which we insisted they fix before the job was complete. At the very end, they attempted to convince us to pay outside of the agreed pay schedule but we, fortunately, held our ground to get them to a version of finished before final payments.
Since the end of the project, we realized that our in wall heater is not working correctly. We're now going on over two months of trying to get them to honor the warranty but they have no-showed multiple times and continue to come up with new ways to avoid responsibility. The owner of the company Sam seems nice and pleasant, as all contractors that have built a business seem to be, but his crews are unreliable. His GC, Ivan, is one of multiple crews he has and we suspect he'd say it is an isolated incident but our warranty is with Sam/Harmony and his GCs and crews will come and go.
My advice about this contractor would be... use them if you need an affordable crew and are okay with a good majority of the work happening in the evening, but don't expect the best quality and definitely sign an agreed upon pay schedule for the work as part of your contract. Also... there is no warranty. Just bet on that.

I usually don't leave reviews but The Harmony provided such a great service. Helped me to decide what I want with my house, made for me 3d renderings and then implemented it into reality. I'm happy with the results and with the budget we spent - absolutely affordable. The quality is impressive as well. Thank you Sam!!
