I want to start by saying this review was originally going to be a 1‑star rating. The initial walkthrough from TruTec was outstanding—thorough, informative, and far better than the two other companies we received estimates from. We had just purchased new kitchen appliances and needed updated wiring, especially since the previous homeowner had done some very “creative” engineering. TruTec earned our business because their walkthrough was detailed and honest, without the pushy upselling we experienced elsewhere.<br>The issues began once the actual work started. The indoor work was solid, but the outdoor work was not up to standard. Wires were left hanging after capping the gas and water lines, and existing wiring was pulled to create slack for a new line. I took photos and contacted the company. After some discussion, the original electrician who gave us the quote, returned to review the situation.<br>He immediately agreed the work done outside wasn’t acceptable and took full responsibility to fix it all. He redid everything, cleaned up the line runs, and corrected the exposed wiring (even though it wasn’t live). He handled it professionally and without argument, which I truly appreciated. He also gave some great advice of how to manage the work we want to do without breaking the bank.<br>Because of his integrity and craftsmanship, my review went from 1 star to 5 stars. He was fantastic, and I will absolutely request him again for future upgrades to our home. He deserves the 5 stars for all he did in making things right.

Advisor scheduled a job to install an EV charger, without doing a load assessment. Turns out that the EV charger would have put me way over the allowed load. He also charged me $40 for this.

Leaving this review to steer people far away from this business. They market themselves as honest, local professionals, but my experience was the complete opposite. What I got was unbelievable pricing, sloppy workmanship, and a crew that seemed far more interested in hanging around than doing quality electrical work.<br><br>Isaiah shows up with the smiles, charm, and “we’ll take care of you” attitude that makes you feel like you’re in good hands — right up until the quote comes back and nearly makes you choke. Then Gabe and Hector show up: young, inexperienced, and being marketed and billed like master electricians despite work that was anything but professional.<br><br>I paid over $15,000 for what should have been straightforward electrical work. About $4000 of that was supposedly for breaker and code-related upgrades. They swapped switches around, left without relabeling a single breaker, and I later discovered my refrigerator and a bathroom outlet were tied into the same circuit — an actual code violation and potential safety issue.<br><br>This review is being written AFTER three additional service calls to address problems caused by their previous work. Every time I thought the issues were finally resolved, something else surfaced. I’ve now found ANOTHER dead outlet in my home. At this point, I have zero confidence in the quality or safety of anything they touched.<br><br>To make matters worse, the crew spent more time joking around, watching anime, and shocking themselves than demonstrating any level of craftsmanship that justifies these prices.<br><br>When I called to explain that I felt completely taken advantage of, Cole, the customer service manager, apologized and promised they’d come make things right. Instead, they showed up with another estimate and offered me 15% off as an “apology.” After spending $15,000, the fixes should have been handled free of charge.<br><br>The final insult: they quoted me $250 PER smoke detector to reinstall them — over $1,200 total for the house. I bought a six-pack of top-rated detectors myself and installed every single one for around $250 total.<br><br>This company hides behind the “young and local” image to make homeowners think they’re getting honesty and care instead of dealing with a big corporate chain. In reality, it felt like a wolf in sheep’s clothing. I couldn’t be more disappointed with the experience, and I’ll be filing a formal complaint with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.<br><br>I’ve included an image of the breaker box they supposedly updated and brought up to code for reference. And yes, I paid for this. Sad I know. Don’t make the same mistake I did and stay far, far away.
