This is a wonderful business with honest, helpful and professional employees. We were extremely pleased. We had an exterior accent brick wall cave in after all the extreme weather this year and the lead mason came out on a Sunday afternoon to look at it for us and quote us a price. The price was within our budget and the crew started and was done in 2 days.
Amazing! I highly recommend this business to anyone needing masonry work.

Top notch at every point. Starting with the responsiveness and helpfulness of the office staff through the clean up after the work, this could not have gone any better.
Every appointment was done on time. The estimate came with a thorough explanation of the work needed and the options for repair.
Got a call 30 minutes before arrival for each day of the work.
Installation crew was ON IT!. Knew their stuff, explained each step thoroughly. Crew kept the house clean throughout and left it cleaner that when they started.
Price was lowest of three bids.

I think these folks are total scam artists. I would avoid at all costs.

Made an appointment for a chimney inspection, and a possible cleaning. The technician came out and said the chimney needed to be cleaned. I asked him, "that's it?" He said, "yes." I told him to go ahead and do the cleaning.

The next day I got a proposal for $6,000+ of work that they claim needs to be done. Ridiculous! - especially considering that this same company inspected the same chimney four years ago and did $1,000+ worth of work and again there was no mention of needing to reline the chimneys. Outrageous.

I think the technicians go back and get pressured to report work needs to be done that does not.

I have been a builder for 45 years and know well how difficult it is to do a job like lining a chimney. They showed up on time, were extremely careful in the middle of a complicated living room and executed the work beautifully. Even when the manager of the first crew was off sick one day the replacement crew were equally as good as the first crew. I can highly recommend them.

American Chimney are disorganized and incompetent.

For the first appointment for a simple estimate, they failed to show up at 8:30 a.m. I called them on the phone to check their ETA. They said they were late. They would now arrive at 9:30 a.m. However, at 9:30 a.m., they called and said - there is a "mix up with the van." So they cancelled the appointment. I missed a whole morning of work because of their incompetence.

For the 2nd appointment, they provided an estimate for a damper. But they failed to measure what size they would need. Incompetence.

For the 3rd appointment, scheduled for the purpose of installing the new damper, they showed up 2 hours early. That would be ok, except I wasn't there. And no called me to tell me they would be 2 hours early. So I ended up meeting them anyway. But they could not install the damper, because they did not have the correct size. So they told me they had to reschedule again. It screwed up my entire Saturday. Incompetence.

For the 4th appointment to hopefully install the damper, they cannot even set a specific time. I asked for 5pm, and they said they are not sure. But they will let me know.

Disorganized. Incompetent. Inconsiderate. Now I'm scared to have them anywhere near my chimney.

Called them more than a month ago for a fireplace estimate. The lady who answered said she'd have one of their service technicians contact me. Several days later he contacted me to see if he could come by within 24 hrs which was too late to make arrangements for the visit. I followed up weeks later and the woman who answered directed me to contact Steve. I contacted Steve and he told me he was the wrong guy for chimneys and fireplaces and that he worked concrete. If I had limitless time, this wouldn't be a problem. But since I live in the real world where calling the same company multiple times simply to get someone out for a quote comes at a cost, American Professional gets one star.
