I first contacted Bay Area Turf via email on Wednesday, 1/28/15 and requested an appointment ASAP. I got a response within 2 hours and Matt came out the next day. The site visit was fine. At that time I said I was hoping to make a decision by the end of the week and asked Matt to turn around the bid ASAP. It should be a simple bid since it's only 500 square feet.

I didn't hear anything for a few days so I emailed a reminder on Sunday 2/1/15. No response for a few more days.

Giving the benefit of the doubt (why would they risk their 5 star rating?), I phoned Wednesday morning (2/4/15). I told the receptionist this history and she said she'd message Matt right away. No response.

I called one last time the next day (Thursday, 2/5/15) and told to the receptionist that I was just about to write my Yelp review but decided to give them one last opportunity. She said she'd get a message to Matt. No response.

I can only guess why I've gotten the brush off. I had signed up for the $9/sq. ft. "special" on Bay Area Turf's website. I'm re-landscaping my entire front yard, so a turf installer will have to coordinate somewhat with my general landscaper, but this shouldn't be difficult. In any case, if my project is not worth Bay Area Turf's time, they should just say so, rather than wasting my time.

BAT just completed installing turf in my backyard in the Tri-Valley area. I am completely satisfied with every aspect of interaction with the company. If you are considering a turf installation and you live in the area, feel free to send me an message and you can come look at the finished product.

Matt and his crew just completed the 2nd job for us. We got a few bids from competing artificial turf businesses including the company that advertises on t.v. Matt gave a bid that seemed to be reasonable. It turned out to be half of that companies bid. Our biggest hesitation really was a concern over the appearance. We weren't convinced that the new turf would look natural. Matt spent a lot of time going over the variety of types of turf to select from. We chose what we thought would be the most natural and went ahead with a smallish area near our pool just to be sure the turf wouldn't look terribly out of place or "plastic". The job exceeded our expectations. It turned our great!

The guys that work for Matt are terrific. They are conscientious , courteous, and considerate of the overall landscaping that exists there prior to their work. They showed up on time and worked nonstop until finished. They power washed and cleaned up to such a degree that everything looked better than before they began their work. After the first job this summer we experienced a broken sprinkler pipe that we didn't know was there that spewed out a lot of water. We were concerned and called Matt. He sent out the guys and they fixed it right away without charge even tho it wasn't really their responsibility. We were very impressed and thankful.

Today they finished the cornerstone of our landscaping. Our front yard. It looks really great and not at all unnatural. We couldn't be happier with the whole process. We are excited at the prospect of no more gopher holes or mounds or mole tunnels or holes from squirrels or torn up lawn from raccoons! And no more lawn mowing or watering!!!

I am happy to recommend without reservation Bay Area Turf and their great crew to anyone looking to convert to artificial turf.

This is a "I should have used them" review. We got 6 quotes for turf in our backyard. I was almost going to go with Matt and at the last minute went with a smaller operation because he kept after me for his business. BIG MISTAKE. One man operations are not always the best. He missed his contractual deadline by so much I had to stop my credit card payment. I got so frustrated I contacted Matt and asked if he would finish the job started by someone else. He was quick to respond and was putting the wheels in motion when the original person finally finished the project, I wish I had gone with Bay Area Turf.

Friendly staff. Matt was a pleasure to work with. They enabled me to briefly visit another site to see their work in progress. Their quote for me was significantly cheaper than the other 3 quotes I got. They arrived around 8am each day which was great and were friendly and efficient. The install took 3 days for our small SF back yard. Now it looks great. Wish we had made the switch to turf 10 years ago.

We thought about installing synthetic turf for quite some time. We had a small area to cover in our backyard and after reading the reviews on Yelp and calling various companies for quotes, we settled on Bay Area Turf.

Matt stopped to take some measurements and gave me a rough idea of the cost. Shortly after i received the official quote via email. Everything was inline with what I expected, so we scheduled a date for the install.

On the day of the install, Matt and his crew were on time and ready to start the job. After a brief chat to review the plan, they were off and working. Bay Area Turf is a family business and I'd characterize each of the folks I met as dedicated, hard-working, and friendly.

I sense they take pride in what they do. From start to finish, they were efficient, diligent, and clean. I often prefer to do things myself, but I've learned sometimes it's best to call in a pro. I'm always a little leery about calling in outside help, but Matt and his team did an excellent job and I have no complaints!

My former patch of dirt now looks green and lush. I look forward to lounging around on my new grass, especially since I won't need to spend time watering or mowing!
