TL:DR Unhappy with a system I overpaid for; feels like a bait-and-switch.

I wanted a 2 ton heat pump because for our climate that would be fine for all but the coldest nights, and we have multiple redundant backup systems. Got upsold to a bigger, more expensive 4 ton unit with the justification that if I sold the house, maybe the next people wouldn’t like the smaller unit, and trusted the sales guy that being a premium inverter unit, it would just run at partial capacity. However, since install, I have found no measurable way it differs from a single stage unit. It stays off until the thermostat calls for cooling, then runs 100% until the setpoint is hit. Being bigger than I wanted, and constantly running at 100% it’s loud, and makes the house drafty. Plus, because it only runs less than 5% of the time, it doesn't do much of anything for dealing with the high humidity in the house. Given that it was close to $7000 more than a single stage unit, I have no clue what I'm getting for that money.

Additionally, as I was already having electrical work done and there would be an electrician on site, I had all the quotes include adding an outdoor outlet, which, being an easy job, Essential included in the quote for free. However, having selected them, they just… didn’t do it…

The install went okay, besides having several not-to-code notches cut in load bearing studs, including one that was completely cut with no support. Some of the holes in the house for electrical were also very under sealed with almost finger sized gaps in the caulking.

To add insult to injury, I keep getting instagram ads about how they offer free quotes online with no sales visit needed, and the price they’re advertising a comparable unit for $4500 less than I paid

I have to say, this was one of the best experiences I have had, when having a major appliance installed.
From first contact to completion of the project, it was perfect. Could not have asked for anything better.

This company backs their own word with great customer service, product and timing. When the installers came they came prepared, on time and started working on the job right away. Not only that, but they finished the work flawlessly within the day. Overall, very satisfied!

We got our new heat pump and furnace installed on a Tuesday. Unfortunately, there was something amiss that the install team couldn’t solve, so a tech was scheduled to come out and fix things. We got the tech scheduled for that Thursday. He arrived right on time and quickly found that it was just one wire out of place. After he fixed it and politely answered questions, the tech was on his way, and we had cool air blessing us on a hot day!

Allen and his crew did an mazing job and were very professional from the minute they got to our home to when they finished. We had an old system and the way they were able to install and make it easier for us, was so nice to see. They cleaned up everything and gave us a walk through of the work they did and how to use the new thermostat and did it in a way that was easy to understand and follow. We are so happy with everything!
